Last night I couldn't sleep in my room and had to sleep in my father's room because I couldn't believe they were really alive and I didn't want to let that moment slide.
I didn't want to wake up the following morning and realize it was all a lie and that they were gone. So I had to sleep on the same bed as them with both of them on either side of the bed.
This was not the first time I had slept with them on the same bed but it had been so long.
By the time I woke up, I heard both my parents speaking in hushed voices and I refused to open my eyes as I listened to their discussion since they were speaking over me.
"She nearly strangled me, Bridget, I am not lying." My father complained like a child.
"Of course she would. You deserve it." My mother triumphantly supported her.
"Don't be like that, darling. I could have died. Her grip was so firm like Peter was the one actually strangling me. I think he is beginning to influence her wrongly." He complained.
