An hour later….
She was fast asleep.
The carriage had only one seater with one door while Ruby's carriage had two doors and two seaters.
And it was done intentionally.
As I watched Deborah peacefully sleeping, I sighed and adjusted her on the seater so she could lean on my shoulder.
She adjusted a little and made a groggy sound as she asked me a silly question, "Have you ever been shot by a lady?"
But she didn't stay awake to hear my response and I smiled and shook my head.
It was nice to see that she still spoke in her sleep, meaning some habits still remained.
When I was certain she had fully gone back to sleep, I stealthily used my other hand to take the piece of paper Lauren had placed in her slacks pocket.
Thankfully, he put it in the right side of her pocket and she was sitting on my left so I instantly had access to it.
I slowly pulled the piece of neatly folded paper and used one hand to open it so I could read the content.
