~{DEBORAH'S POV}~
*
As we rode out of the palace and into the city since that was the only way out for us, I watched how the people made way and bowed in respect to the leaving carriages.
If Peter hadn't come to my rescue, I would have been dragged out to the city and the announcement would have been made that I divorced the king.
So you can already imagine the rest.
And with such a loud crowd, I would have died with just five stones.
Yet, to think it doesn't apply to the men was so unfair and I hated the fact that I changed nothing about that.
What a wasted effort.
"Thank you for riding with me, Peter," I thanked him while dropping all formalities.
"I don't know if I should say you are welcome as you haven't read the content of the note Lauren gave you."
Slowly, I turned to look at him and found him already staring at me with a knowing smile.
I knew he would know because he was quite smart, after all we were siblings and thought alike.
