"I saved you a seat. You better be grateful and buy me some land when we finally get there."
Shawn's loud voice cut through the rumble of the idling bus engine. He playfully slapped Zade on the back as he ushered them down the narrow aisle, pointing proudly toward the very back row.
The bus was already mostly full, but the entire five-seater bench at the rear was wide open, designated as their territory.
Zade immediately gestured for Rai to take the window seat in the corner. Before sliding in though, Rai paused, turning a highly skeptical, narrowing glance toward the bastard.
While the corner seat technically sounded comfortable, tucked away where the rest of the department couldn't easily turn around and spy on them, it instantly triggered a flashback to their old school trip day.
That specific trip. The one where Zade had spent hours leaning into his space, subtly pinching his sides, squeezing him into the corner, and basically harassing him.
