Rai lied through his teeth as the other teacher finally handed him some painkillers and left him alone, heading back to work. He felt a flicker of guilt for lying, but what was he supposed to say?
And why the hell was his face so red now that he checked too?
Rai shoved his phone back into his pocket and leaned his head against the table, replaying everything in his mind. He had gotten carried away. Completely. Zade had done that, again. Dragged him into some ridiculous situation and then vanished like it meant nothing, leaving Rai stuck dealing with the aftermath.
'I fell for his tricks like an idiot. Made a fool of myself in front of everyone.'
His fingers moved almost on their own as he pulled the phone back out. His thumb hovered over the block button.
One tap.
Done.
But he didn't press it.
He couldn't.
He didn't even want to, at least not yet.
