Chapter 63 - The Climb

White ceiling above, sparkling marble floor below. 

The artificial lights embedded in the white ceiling above lit up the entire room, casting a quiet, somber mood that made for a really tense atmosphere.

A large, round metal table sat in the middle of the spacious room with walls made of an indiscernible type of steel.

Around this round table, old men dressed in finely tailored suits of different colors sat on metallic chairs. 

Their pale, wrinkly faces wore the expressions of contemplation as their analytical eyes drilled holes all around our bodies.

A tense cold blew over the room, prickling my skin. 

I gritted my teeth, killing the subtle shiver that ran up my spine.

Damned AC.

I straightened my back, drawing a deep, relaxed breath as my chest deflated.

Park tapped my shoulder.

With a raised brow, I turned to glance at the greedy, pot-bellied man who stood behind me.

As our eyes met, Park flashed an efficient, toothless smile.

"I'll be waiting outside," He whispered.
