Ye Xinxia looked at Mu Ningxue, standing beside Mu Nianbing, surprise flickering across her gentle features.
"Xin Xia," Mu Nianbing said softly, "due to some recent changes, Xue'er will be living here for a while."
He didn't want to burden Xin Xia with details about the Mu Family's situation. There was no need to worry her further.
Although puzzled, Xinxia still smiled with her usual kindness.
"Ningxue, welcome."
"Thank you," Mu Ningxue replied with a faint smile.
She had been slightly uneasy at first. After all, Xin Xia was likely the first person to share a home with Mu Nianbing—meeting her felt a little like an unexpected test.
But once she saw Xinxia's calm warmth, her tension quietly melted away.
"You two chat for a bit," Mu Nianbing said, heading for the balcony. "I'll cultivate outside."
He decided to give them space to talk and get comfortable with each other. The more harmonious things became between them, the better for everyone.
Cultivation on the Balcony
Cross-legged on the balcony, Mu Nianbing calmed his mind and entered meditation.
He needed to raise his Summoning Element to the Second Level as soon as possible—only then could Little Snow Girl advance.
The Space Element could wait.
His Ice Element had already reached the Third Level, and with steady progress, he could reach full High-level mastery within half a year—likely during National Team training.
However, breaking through to the Super Level was an entirely different challenge.
Even with the Ice God's Blessing, it would take tremendous effort and resources.
The fastest way was through concentrated magical energy—such as the Starry Sea Vein.
Unfortunately, even a semi-finished Starry Sea Vein cost an astronomical sum.
Mu Nianbing couldn't afford it yet, and besides, a semi-finished one only provided a ten percent success rate—barely better than gambling.
So he set his sights on another option: the Earth Holy Spring of Xia Island.
The Earth Holy Spring in Bo City had long been diluted, useless to even Middle-level Mages.
But the one on Xia Island remained pure, capable of assisting even Super-level breakthroughs.
The Black Phoenix, Song Feiyao, was proof—she had soared from Novice to Super Level thanks to its energy.
Not only he, but Liu Xian and Liu Ru would also need the spring's power if they wanted to go beyond the High level someday.
That decided it—he would find a way to claim the Earth Holy Spring of Xia Island.
Two Months Later
Time slipped by quietly. Two months later, Mu Nianbing's days were… unexpectedly complicated.
Having both Mu Ningxue and Xin Xia in the same apartment should have made life more pleasant.
Instead, they seemed to have formed an unspoken alliance, constantly taking turns keeping him in check.
He sighed inwardly. "Two months of this… and I've lost more energy keeping peace than cultivating."
Still, something good came of it—his Summoning Element had finally reached the Second Level, allowing Little Snow Girl to evolve.
"Yi–ya!"
Little Snow Girl fluttered excitedly around him, her translucent figure glowing with icy light.
"Don't contracted creatures need some special materials to advance?" Mu Ningxue asked curiously.
Perhaps because of their shared affinity with Ice, she had grown fond of the spirit, often letting Little Snow Girl rest in her arms.
"No need," Mu Nianbing explained with a smile. "Her bloodline is incredibly high. As long as she has enough energy, she'll evolve naturally."
He took out five Ice Element Lingzhong Shards from his Space Ring.
Three were gifts from Han Ji, and the other two were acquired through auction.
Their combined value exceeded a hundred million yuan—raising Little Snow Girl was definitely not something an ordinary mage could afford.
The little spirit's eyes lit up like gold coins. She lunged toward the shards, hugging one tightly as if she might bite into it.
Mu Nianbing swiftly caught her mid-pounce.
"Yi–ya…" Little Snow Girl puffed out her cheeks, crossing her arms in protest. Her wide eyes shimmered with mock tears, as if she'd been bullied.
Mu Nianbing flicked her forehead lightly.
"Stop pretending. These are all for you, but only after I channel magic energy into you."
Instantly, her sulking vanished. "Yi–ya!" she chirped, grinning in delight.
Shaking his head, Mu Nianbing placed his hand above her and poured his Summoning Element magic energy into her.
The little sprite began absorbing the Lingzhong Shards one by one.
She devoured the first three eagerly, but by the fourth, her tiny form trembled, her belly puffed up slightly, and her wings fluttered weakly.
Finally, she collapsed on the coffee table and fell into a deep sleep, the last shard still faintly glowing beside her.
Mu Nianbing smiled faintly. "Rest well."
As night fell, a soft, snow-white radiance enveloped Little Snow Girl.
The light shimmered brighter and brighter until, with a burst of frost, her tiny figure began to transform.
When the glow finally faded, a graceful young girl stood before them—her skin pale as moonlight, her long silver hair flowing like frost, and her eyes glimmering with crystalline cold.
Her aura had changed completely—from adorable to ethereal, from cute to breathtaking.
"So beautiful…" Mu Ningxue and Ye Xinxia both gasped softly, their eyes widening in awe.
Mu Nianbing himself was briefly stunned.
He hadn't expected her human form to be this stunning—colder and purer even than Mu Ningxue's own icy elegance.
"Master~~"
Her voice chimed like silver bells, soft yet refreshing, as she flew directly into his arms.
For a second, both Mu Ningxue and Xin Xia stared in surprise. They hadn't realized Little Snow Girl could actually speak.
Mu Nianbing chuckled and caught her, gently brushing a hand through her hair.
"Welcome back, Snow Girl."
The spirit girl smiled, her cool presence filling the room with quiet beauty—like the first snowfall of winter.
