Morning sunlight poured gently into the yard, washing the cottages in a warm, pale gold. The blades of grass and leaves glistened as dew drops caught the light.
Lucille was surprised to wake up refreshed the next morning. She slept so soundly without even a hint of a dream dropping by. She had initially thought it would be quite a restless night.
Without wasting time, Lucille got herself ready for the brand new day. She had breakfast with Ashrik as usual. After having their meal, the lingering scent of congee and stir-fried vegetables still clung to the air.
Lucille slipped on a light jacket, eyes bright with barely contained excitement. She hovered near Ashrik as he checked the items he had laid out on the table.
"Brother Ash, is there anything I should bring?" she asked, happily anticipating that she would go deeper into the forest to forage for herbs this morning. "A knife? Gloves? How about a basket?"
