Ethics of Love:
For the Averai, there is only ever one star that is meant for another star (= monogamy). Even after reincarnation, these stars always find each other again. Therefore, the suitable partner for marriage is determined through star readings. By touching the hands of both partners to the eight-pointed star (in the center of which sits a violet crystal), all memories from past lives are revived in fractions of a second.

Night of the Two Moons – June 8
Ritual: Couples touch their foreheads to each other's in the moonlight for exactly ten heartbeats, their hands touching each other's hearts to count the beats.
Love Phrase:
Common: "You are my silent wonder."
Averic: "Thalas'iren, en vel'ra."
Love Vow:
Common: "My soul recognizes you through every life." Averic: "Sel'thara ven'or enae."
Runes Fire – June 14
Ritual: Rune symbols are drawn on glowing stones, and the rising heat is used to purify the participants—a purification ritual in the "sauna." (Warning: Stones are hot!! ;)
Since it's very hot in Averethiel, people go to the sauna in the evenings. The sauna is also built into an ice chamber for cooling off first, or they can go directly to a cool pond or similar body of water to cleanse themselves and draw rune symbols on cool stones.
But it's important that the rune symbols are drawn on the stones!
Feather Consecration – December 22nd
Ritual: Young elves receive their first silver feather to show that they are now ready to serve the wisdom of the stars.
The rituals usually also include folk songs, folk dances, prayers, and oaths of the local realm, which are sung, danced, or recited.
Love and Birth Ceremony:
Love Ritual: The couple goes to their moonbed, a floating bed made of silver fabrics and luminous runes,
under open starlight.
Before they unite, they touch each other's foreheads and whisper their names into the night,
so that the stars may recognize them.
A part of their souls journeys together to the stars.
Only then do they consummate their love—silently, slowly, and carried by magic.
Love Prayer:
Common Language: "The stars have led us together."
Averic: "Sel'thara ven'or."
Birth Ritual: The birth takes place in the same moonbed,
while the parents are surrounded by starlight.
After the birth, the child is briefly lifted toward the night sky,
so that its destiny may be seen in the stars.
Blessing of Birth:
Common Language: "The stars have recognized you and will protect you throughout life."
Averic: "Lumaris venai, sel'thar na lîven."
Marriage Ceremony:
Marriage Ritual: The couple floats slowly under starlight to the eight-pointed star circle altar.
There, they both touch the star crystal,
which briefly lights up when their destinies intersect.
No vow is spoken aloud—the stars serve as witnesses.
Marriage blessing:
Common language: "The stars know your union."
Averic: "Astra vos iam noverunt."
Funeral Ceremony:
Mourning Ritual: The moon-shaped coffin is carried outdoors and lit under the open starry sky.
As the flames rise, the star names of the ancestors are softly spoken.
The ashes are released to the wind so that they may mingle once more among the stars.
Blessing of Mourning:
Common Speech: "You return to the stars that called you."
Averic: "Ad astra rediit."

The hand of the person dancing next to you is held; the right hand holds the hand of the person to your right, and the left hand holds the hand of the person to your left.
