Kyle threw himself at Ezra again with the kind of determination that only existed in people who had already accepted they were probably going to lose but refused to surrender anyway.
The training grounds had slowly transformed from a normal morning practice area into a full audience at this point. Wolves had stopped mid-conversation, mid-training, even mid-drill, all of them watching the fight unfolding in the center field.
Mostly because Kyle apparently had no survival instinct.
Dust shifted beneath his boots as he moved quickly across the field again, breathing harder now, his hair damp slightly at the temples from sweat, dark blond strands falling into his eyes every few seconds, only for him to impatiently shove them away again.
Ezra barely looked tired.
Which honestly felt unfair.
