Ada finished cooking and instructed thr maids to serve the royal family for breakfast.
Thank you for your assistance this morning. I have kept a portion for you to eat she said to the kitchen staff and went to the change room to change back to her wrapper as and beads which she had taken off before she started to cook. As Ada walked out of the changing room, she turned to Ugomma who stood by the door and gave the older woman a hug.
As she made small talk with the cooks, Ugomma was shocked and did not know what to make of the new princess. She seemed humble and good hearted. She treated everyone as equals and was as pretty as ripe fruit. Ugomma couldn't have asked for a better bride for the prince.
Ikenna came back to the room and saw that Ada was missing. He called for his servant [eze] and asked where Ada was. Had she forgotten that they had a meal with his parents today? When his servant [eze] returned with the news of where she was, he sat down and laughed hard.

That would have been a sight worth seeing. Eze himself wondered what the princess was doing in the kitchen. He had never seen a royal enter the kitchen room before.
Ikenna wanted to go and see for himself , but he thought better of it. He knew his love would never do this. Even as a servant who attended to the queen, she never mixed with the other servants.
Ada said her goodbyes and prepared to leave the cooking building. She got to the entrance and found Eze (The prince servant) standing there.
Your majesty the prince requests that you accompany him to the palace dining for breakfast 'he said.
She walked to her house and found Ikenna standing outside. Eze had not followed her, so they were alone.
'Is cooking also one of your hobbies?
'Why do ask, my lord? Ada replied.
He frowned, refusing to answer as he took her hand in his and led her for breakfast with the king and queen.

Who does she think she is? Uche exclaimed as the kitchen servants watched the prince and princess walked towards the palace. She just came, and already she is ordering us around. I isn't she comfortable inside the palace?

Ifeoma ate in silence, alienating her self from the discussion. She thought the princess was very beautiful and from her first encounter today, she liked her very much. Ifeoma knew Uche was simply pained on the behalf of her older sister who was in love with the prince.

Ugomma had heard their conversations and wondered why Uche was filled with so much hatred for the princess. And she always got her self into fights with the other girls and carried herself with high and mighty air because her sister was the prince's mistress. In this palace one had to be careful lest one's only means of living be taken way in a flash. She had five mouths (five children) to feed so she avoided palace gossip with fury.
