The man lowered his head, capturing her lips to silence her. His cool, forked tongue licked at the glistening moisture on them.
Just an instant before her palm could strike, Mi Yin quickly buried his head deep in the crook of her neck. His cool hair, smooth as silk, spilled over her.
"Don't move. I want to hold you." His voice was deep and alluring, tinged with a hint of pleading and attachment.
An Jin froze and, true to his word, didn't move. Soon, the sound of long, deep breaths rose from behind her.
She glanced back. 'He just... held me and fell asleep?'
An Jin stared, stunned, then let out a sigh of relief as if she'd just survived a catastrophe. She reached down to smooth out her wrinkled beast hide skirt. Her whole body was wedged into the fleshy coils of his snake tail, and for fear of waking the Snake Beast, she dared not move.
'A Wandering Beast's nature never changes, after all. I can't let my guard down for a second!'
