Nox advanced quickly through the dark corridor. The sound of his footsteps echoed as several chimeras emerged in front of him to block his path.
Yet he did not slow down.
On the contrary, he simply raised his hand.
His claws sliced through the air in a fluid motion.
The creatures did not even have time to understand what was happening. The first chimera collapsed, its head hitting the ground with a dull thud before rolling against the wall. The next one tried to retreat, but Nox had already twisted his wrist. Another head snapped backward in a spray of blood. The lifeless bodies fell heavily onto the tiles, their limbs still twitching with faint spasms.
Nox continued walking as if nothing had happened, simply stepping over a corpse lying across the passage.
A few seconds later, he arrived in front of a door.
He stopped for a moment.
His ears caught muffled sounds behind the steel panel. Voices, or perhaps moans. It was hard to tell.
