Chapter 244 - Chapter 158: Shadow Lord

The sealed gate finally gave way with a deep, grinding sound that echoed across the floating platforms. Red light poured out in thick waves as a massive figure stepped through the broken darkness. The ancient shadow lord stood nearly twice the height of the previous constructs, its body formed of dense, living shadow and old armor etched with forgotten symbols. Two burning red eyes locked onto the group with clear intelligence and old hatred.

Wei Chen felt the weight of its presence immediately. This one was different. Stronger. Aware.

"Spread out," he said, voice calm but firm. "Don't clump together. Disciples, keep the outer edges clear. Huo Yan, work with Lan Qing and Mei Yun — use the ice-flame mix to slow it down. Tigress Yu, Zhao Yin, keep it from focusing on anyone for too long."

The shadow lord moved first. Its massive arm swept across the nearest platform, forcing Tigress Yu and Zhao Yin to leap aside. The impact cracked the stone and sent pieces falling into the void below. Huo Yan answered with a burst of flame that mixed with the ice from the other two queens, creating a sudden cloud of steam and sharp ice shards that struck the lord's chest and forced it to take a half-step back.

The disciples moved quickly into supporting positions. Main and sub-main disciples worked in pairs, using short bursts of the harmony scripture to strike at the weaker points in the shadow lord's armor whenever it turned. Outer disciples kept the edges clear, preventing smaller shadow remnants from interfering.

Wei Chen stayed mobile, deflecting heavy strikes with his fan and only intervening when the lord's attention locked too long on one of the queens or disciples. He finished a secondary shadow that tried to flank the outer group with a clean burst of Yang energy, then returned his focus to the main fight.

The battle stretched longer than the previous ones. The shadow lord adapted, shifting its attacks and using the cold energy around it to slow movement. Tigress Yu took a glancing hit that left a thin line of frost across her arm but kept fighting without pause. Zhao Yin's shadows wrapped around one of the lord's legs for a few seconds, giving the others an opening to strike.

During a short stretch where the lord was forced to defend against a strong ice-flame combination, Wei Chen moved to Tigress Yu's side. He checked the frost on her arm, then slid his hand lower and rubbed her firmly between her legs while speaking close to her ear.

"Still sharp," he said. "Your body hasn't slowed down."

She gave a short breath of a laugh and pushed against his hand for a moment before returning to the fight. The contact was brief, but it grounded both of them.

A little later, while the disciples created space on the left side, Wei Chen pulled Zhao Yin behind a broken section of platform. He didn't speak much. He simply guided her down, pushed into her mouth, and moved with steady control while the sounds of the ongoing battle continued nearby. She took him without hesitation, eyes half-closed, until he pulled back and let her return to the fight.

The shadow lord grew more aggressive as its armor began to crack under the repeated ice-flame assaults. One heavy strike nearly reached the outer disciples before Wei Chen intercepted it with a focused Nine-Suns burst that forced the lord to stagger. The opening allowed Huo Yan and the ice queens to land another strong combined attack that cracked the armor further across its chest.

In the brief moment that followed, Wei Chen found Lan Qing catching her breath. He dropped lower, parted her legs, and licked her with deliberate pressure until her thighs tightened and she came with a controlled, quiet sound. He stood, wiped his mouth, and sent her back into position without drawing unnecessary attention.

Mei Yun received similar attention a short time later. While she prepared another cast, he stood behind her and cupped her breasts, thumbs moving slowly across her nipples as he spoke in a low voice.

"Keep the mix steady. You're holding it well."

She nodded, a faint flush on her cheeks, and continued casting.

The group slowly wore the shadow lord down. Wei Chen intervened only when needed, creating openings rather than finishing the fight alone. The disciples landed more clean hits as the lord's movements grew heavier. Tigress Yu and Zhao Yin kept it from focusing too long on any single target.

Finally the combined pressure became too much. A strong ice-flame blast from Huo Yan, Lan Qing, and Mei Yun cracked the core in the shadow lord's chest. Wei Chen followed immediately with a precise burst of Yang energy that shattered it.

The ancient shadow lord let out a low, resonant sound and collapsed into thick black mist that slowly dissipated into the void. The heavy pressure in the area lessened, though a residual cold still lingered around the broken gate.

The group stood in the aftermath, breathing hard. Several of the platforms around them were cracked or partially broken. Wei Chen moved through the group, checking on everyone. Most injuries were minor. He stopped beside Huo Yan and rested a hand on her hip, fingers brushing lower for a moment as he spoke to the others.

"Well done. The combination is getting stronger. Take a short rest, then we check what the gate has left behind."

The recovery was quieter this time. Tigress Yu sat with Huo Yan and made a few dry comments about the fight, the two of them sharing a brief look of mutual respect. Lan Qing and Mei Yun helped a couple of outer disciples with small wounds. Lin Xue and Su Mei stayed near Wei Chen, their presence steady. He spent a short time with each of them in turn — a slow, focused touch with Lin Xue that left her breathing deeper, and a few moments with Su Mei where he made her take him into her mouth while the others recovered nearby.

The inheritance crystal pulsed in his hand. New knowledge settled into place. The shadow lord had been one of the stronger seals placed by the ancient enemy clan. Its defeat had fully opened the path deeper into the sealed area, where a major fragment of the Yang Dragon legacy waited — along with whatever else the clan had left behind.

As the group prepared to move through the broken gate, the residual cold energy shifted. Far beyond the gate, something even older and heavier stirred. At the same time, a faint golden pressure brushed against the edge of Wei Chen's senses from a different direction.

The rival had not left the realm.

Wei Chen looked toward the open gate, then briefly in the direction of the distant golden aura.

"We're not alone here," he said. "The path ahead is open, but so is the danger. Stay close."

The group formed up and stepped through the broken gate into the deeper darkness beyond.
