Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

My patient was uncooperative throughout, refusing to listen to me or talk to me no matter how hard I tried.

In the end, this first day was a bitter failure, but I was able to play games all day long.

As I left my "patient's" room, I noticed that night had long since fallen.

It seems that I lost track of time again because of my video games.

I walked quietly to go and write my report on this first day. My patient may just have communication problems or other issues, but it seems to be taken to the extreme. It's really annoying to have to deal with this kind of person, and in her file, I was just told that she needed psychological support. My superiors are jerks for giving me a task like this.

After handing in my report, I was about to head to my car when suddenly a woman in her fifties called out to me when she saw me.

"Um... Hello.

I said, realizing she was waiting for me.

"Let me introduce myself. I'm the mother of Claire, the girl who was entrusted to you,"

she said with a worried look, even though she was polite enough to bend down to my level, even though I'm just a student.

"Yes, that's me. What is it, ma'am? Can I help you?"

I asked, curious about her behavior, while asking her to stand up. I didn't deserve that kind of treatment, at least not for now. Later, I planned to take advantage of it.

"Are you Dr. Leon Sullvian?"

she asked me, her eyes filled with immense distress.

"Yes, that's me."

I replied, taking a step back as she began to cling to my arm with all her strength.

"How is my daughter?"

she asked me with the fear and concern that only mothers can show.

She was surely my patient's mother; only mothers worry so much about their children.

"Don't worry, she's really energetic, even if we don't get along very well yet,"

I said with a forced smile on my lips.

"Really?

She asked with a look of relief and a glimmer of hope in her eyes.

"Yes, with a little effort, I'm sure she'll get better, so don't worry.

I said confidently.

"Then accompany her on this last stretch.

She said, looking as if she was about to cry.

I was shocked that she suddenly started crying in front of me like that for no reason, but after crying, she left to go home without a word.

I don't know why, but I felt heavy, as if I could feel what was in her heart. For a mother, knowing that her daughter is sick must be hard. What can she do except ask the doctors for help and accompany her daughter?

I became a doctor to help people in need like her, but also to save lives.

"Damn... Looks like I'm going to have to work hard again,"

I said with a sigh.

So from that day on, I decided to take my patient's case seriously and grow up a little.

As dawn was breaking over the city, unlike usual, Leon had already arrived at Sun Hospital, looking fresh compared to every other day.

"Hi, Rose,"

I said to the secretary.

"Um... Do we know each other?"

she asked me as if I were a stranger.

"It's me, Leon,"

I said with a sigh.

"No, you're kidding me... Leon isn't that handsome,"

she said, staring at me.

It was the first time she had seen me without dark circles under my eyes and looking fresh, but she was making a big deal out of it.

"Well, I'm going to start my shift,"

I said as I headed for my patient's room.

I entered room 43 again and saw my patient standing at the window, looking out at the hospital garden with an almost wonderstruck expression. She seemed so gentle and calm. Seeing her like that gave me a feeling of peace, as if I were looking at a priceless painting.

"Already awake?"

I asked her, shocked.

"Are you still here?"

She asked me coldly, with a dark look.

It was as if what she had been like earlier was just a distant dream.

"Of course ~ Why would I abandon my adorable patient ~"

I said to annoy her.

"You give me the creeps,"

she said with a look of disgust before returning to her bed.

"You were looking at the garden? Why don't you go out there? It would be fun,"

I said, looking out the window at the garden myself.

"I don't feel like it... I don't want to anymore,"

she said with a deep look.

"We'll have to fix that then.

I said with a smile.

"Get out, you've been annoying me ever since you got here.

she said with hatred.

Being a doctor was really not an easy job every day.
