Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: Secrets in the Garden

The afternoon sun cast long shadows across the resort gardens, painting the flowers in warm golden light. Yumi wandered along the winding paths, picking up fallen petals and watching the bees flit from bloom to bloom. Her mind wandered to the playful mornings with Pherrie, the teasing smiles, the gentle touches that left her heart fluttering in the safest, sweetest way.

"Princess, you look far too serious for a sunny afternoon," Pherrie's voice broke her thoughts, smooth and teasing as ever.

Yumi turned to see him leaning against a stone bench, arms crossed, smirking. "I'm not serious," she said quickly, cheeks warming.

"Mm-hmm," he replied, stepping closer so that their shoulders brushed lightly. "That's exactly what someone serious would say. I think you're thinking about me again."

She groaned, trying not to smile. "You're impossible."

"And yet," he said, brushing his hand over hers lightly, "you're still walking beside me. That must mean something, Princess."

Yumi twitched slightly at the touch. "Maybe it doesn't," she murmured.

Pherrie smirked, clearly pleased. "We'll see about that later."

As they wandered deeper into the garden, they discovered a secluded fountain surrounded by ivy and clusters of colorful flowers. The place was quiet, private, and perfect for a little playful mischief.

"I bet I can find the most unusual flower here," Pherrie said, crouching to inspect a bloom with mock-seriousness.

"You're on!" Yumi replied, laughter brightening her voice. She darted across the clearing, scanning every corner for something unique, giggling whenever Pherrie teased her for getting distracted by a butterfly or a falling leaf.

Hours seemed to pass in a haze of laughter, teasing, and playful rivalry. Even when Kai and Damian wandered in, curious about their secret hideaway, the dynamic between Yumi and Pherrie stayed light, fun, and completely safe.

When they finally left the hidden corner, their arms were overflowing with flowers, their faces flushed from laughing, and their hearts light from the day's adventures.

Yumi glanced at Pherrie, smiling softly. "I like days like this."

"Me too, Princess," he said, brushing a stray strand of hair from her face. "They're better when we're together."

Hand in hand, they walked back toward the resort, the sunlight catching the flowers around them and the gentle teasing and laughter filling the air—a perfect, safe, and joyful summer memory.
