The sun rising from the east made the sea waters seem to come alive, including a unique glow that the moon could not replicate.

This time, unlike the last when Daigo was swimming and his sensei Todo walked on the water, now it was completely different.

Both were now walking on top of the water while the dawn waves complicated things for Daigo not even enough his sensei, who threw rocks at his feet, forcing him to dodge while staying focused on not wasting chakra.

"My favorite student, don't let them hit you! How are you going to get stronger like that?" Todo said while continuing to throw stones at Daigo, who dodged them.

"Sensei, it's not as easy as you say. I can dodge easily, but it would waste chakra—and that's the challenge, not your stones," Daigo replied.

That's right—Daigo had already been training for a week with his new sensei Todo.

Daigo had thought he would be stricter, but in reality, he was a good companion from whom you could learn even when you weren't training.

Though he had a strange obsession with Tsunade—he didn't know how the hell he got a photo of her, but in short, it was as if she were his goddess.

Sometimes Daigo had woken up at night hearing Todo-sensei talking alone to Tsunade's photo.

But what could he do? Since arriving in this world, he hadn't met anyone normal—everyone had something unique that made them special.

Moving on to the training: he had been swimming for 4 days until Todo-sensei said it was enough and that there would be no more benefit from continuing that training when his body was sufficiently trained to move on to the next step.

What he was doing now was walking on top of the water without wasting chakra unnecessarily. Though it sounded easy, in reality it was complicated—because unconsciously his chakra spiked to keep him on top of the sea.

And that, including the waves that sometimes grew to quite a high level, plus an annoying sensei who found entertainment in throwing stones at his student while training.

All this training had made him understand the difference between Water and Earth. Since he learned to use the Earth element, his way was to compress the sand to create stone and be able to manipulate it to create jutsu.

Normally this wouldn't be the case in other village, but being a desert complicated things even more for having Earth as the main element. Now Water was another story.

As Todo-sensei said, it was about flowing—making chakra flow and going with the current. It sounded like one of those Chinese cultivation stories, but it was similar with chakra.

Using the viscosity property of water allowed creating jutsu even in the desert where water was very weak—using the moisture.

He had wondered why he always complicated things.

He could have learned the Wind element, even Fire—but he didn't want to learn the easy one he want the most difficult ones.

Well, though he thought it was better this way—since coming from Sunagakure, no one would expect a Water or Earth user. Normally it would be Wind.

"You seem focused on your thoughts. Care to share them with your favorite sensei?" Todo asked from beside Daigo, who hadn't noticed.

"They're not very important, but Sensei, how strong are you? I've been wondering since you started training me," Daigo asked, looking at his sensei—who simply smiled.

"I'm one of the few elite jōnin in Sunagakure, so I'm really strong," Todo replied to his student.

"But if you're an elite jōnin, you wouldn't be doing missions like the others."

"That's for the weak, Daigo. When you have enough strength, you can sometimes even disobey your Kage and do what you want," Todo said.

"I understand—that's why you're here. But if you're not obeying the Kazekage, why did you choose to train me?" Daigo asked.

"Because it's the only way he'll stop bothering me and sending me stupid missions. Plus, I found my favorite student—so it's win-win," Todo said, slapping Daigo's shoulder and making him stop.

"Sensei, are you going to participate in the war that's about to start soon, or will you stay here doing your thing?"

"Huh? A new war is starting? That's good—I'll get to see my Tsunade-chan! Yes, I'm going to participate. When does it start?" Todo asked, now excited.

"It's not known yet, but clashes on the borders between Earth and Wind are starting, as well as Kumo with Konoha, and Kiri—who seems eager for blood," Daigo said.

"Ah, well, there's still time. Let me know when it's time to fight Konoha, and I'll be there. Now, with this information, we have to make you stronger. Tell me—what's your goal?" Todo asked, now serious.

"My goal is to become the strongest and become the Fourth Kazekage."

"The Fourth Kazekage—I understand. But what are your morals, and how far are you willing to go to achieve your objectives? Every person is different."

"Huh? I hadn't thought about that—since I still have a long way to go," Daigo replied, a bit surprised.

"That's the most important thing for a Kage. I can tell you the morals of the current Kazekage without having been close to him—even the Third Hokage's," Todo said.

"Can you tell me what they are?"

"Of course—why not? The Kazekage's are persistence and endurance—just like his Magnet Release lineage, iron, and its limits. Though he's someone cold, he loves Suna very much, and if a sacrifice is needed, he would do it before his shinobi."

"And the Third Hokage?"

"The Third Hokage is more peace and less war—though that doesn't take away that he has the strongest shinobi. That's why Konoha has endured two wars as the strongest village. He's also one of the strongest Kage—for a reason he has the nickname 'the Professor' and 'God of shinobi' like senju Hashirama."

"I understand what you mean now. Mine wouldn't be so different from both—though I don't like war, it's necessary to create strong shinobi and improve a village life," Daigo said, thinking.

For the next part, Todo put most of his attention now on his student's next words.

"Though I'm not one to forgive—and even less traitors—I want to transform Suna into the strongest village in the shinobi world, and if I have to defeat the others to achieve it, I'll do it with my own hands," Daigo said seriously while looking at his sensei—who smiled the same way.

"That sounds interesting. I think my student as Kazekage will keep things fun. Though I have an even more important question for you," Todo said.

"What is it, Sensei?"

"Tell me—which girl did you get those magnificent tastes from? Like your favorite sensei."

So Daigo had to start telling his sensei all the details about his tastes and why.

Meanwhile, in Sunagakure, a kunoichi sneezed, making her student look at her curiously.

"Sensei, are you okay? You didn't catch a cold, did you?" asked a girl about 8 years old with black hair and bright blue eyes.

"I'm fine, Maki. Surely someone was talking about me. I wonder who it was. How's your training with the cloth going?" Pakura asked.

"It's going well, Sensei—though I need more hand-to-hand practice to improve my control over it. Do you have someone who could be a good helper to improve?" Maki asked.

"Hmm, yes I do—but he's not in the village right now. He disappeared without saying goodbye, and I don't know when he'll come back. But if you can't defeat me, you won't defeat him either," Pakura said, looking at her student who pouted.

"That's not fair—if he's stronger than you and trains me, then I'll defeat you, Sensei. What's he like? What's his name?" Maki asked, approaching her sensei.

"His name is Daigo. He's not much older than you—he's 12 years old. Though he has talent for hand-to-hand combat and quite high battle IQ," Pakura said.

"But Sensei, I wasn't talking about his strength—I meant his appearance. You seem close to him from the way you praise him," Maki said, making Pakura look away when poked.

Coughing a little, Pakura composed herself to look at her curious student.

"Well, he's taller than me, has long hair a little past his waist, ash-gray color. His skin is a bit tan though not too dark, and his eyes are pink Sakura. Plus he has features of someone older than his age," Pakura said, making her student imagine every detail she described.

"Sensei, he sounds quite handsome. Maybe he has lots of girls after him," Maki replied, making Pakura shake her head.

"I doubt it—he's an airhead who only trains and eats. That's surely what he's doing right now," Pakura said.

"I see. When I meet him, I'll bring him food so he'll accept to teach me hand-to-hand combat and thus defeat you," Maki said with a smile, making Pakura only look at her—though a wind to her left made her look to see an ANBU.

"Pakura, the Kazekage needs your presence in his office right now," the ANBU said before disappearing.

"Well, you heard him. Keep training with the cloth until you master it. If I run into Daigo, I'll let him know so he can give you some lessons," Pakura said before disappearing in a fire whirlwind, leaving Maki alone in the training ground.

With Pakura in the tower of the kazekage

She arrived at the Kazekage's office and entered, seeing how three squads of ninjas were already there.

"Since everyone is here, it's time. Pakura will be the leader of this mission. A group of 25 Iwa ninjas has entered our lands, attacking everything in their path.

Your mission is to stop them and, if possible, capture them alive. The Daimyo wants answers regarding this attack—so make sure to capture some alive," the Kazekage said, looking at all his ninjas—who nodded with confidence.

"As you say, Kazekage-sama. As the leader of this mission, I will ensure we capture those shinobi and complete the mission," Pakura said, then indicating to the team to wait at the village entrance.

"Do you need anything else, Pakura? In your mission," the Kazekage asked, looking at Pakura who seemed to be asking for something.

"Yes, Kazekage. Is there any way Daigo can join this mission as reinforcement help?" Pakura asked, making the Kazekage surprised.

"Currently Daigo is not in the village, but if something happens and you need reinforcement, I can have him arrive as backup if you're interested," the Kazekage informed.

"Thank you very much, Kazekage-sama. I will take care of the mission," Pakura said before leaving the Kazekage's office.

So she headed to prepare and then leave the village.

Though unbeknownst to her, this mission would be the most important for her shinobi career—earning her first bounty along with her title as Shakuton no Pakura and the Hero of Sunagakure.
