Chapter 5 - Chapter 4: Emotional Regulators

An Bao's innate synesthesia never disappeared. Instead, his parents utilized their networks in Taiwan and Vietnam to arrange for dozens of "emotional regulators" to clarify his emotions and control his inner voice within manageable limits, while also providing appropriate feedback to An Bao. Some of these regulators even privately shared the information and memories received from An Bao with their own children; whenever An Bao learned something new, that knowledge would be passed on to them.

Some of these regulators would talk to themselves, while others would speak in circles during conversations—all with the aim of sorting through An Bao's emotional and mental state. When the regulators were organizing An Bao's condition, they would also occupy a portion of his focus, which is why An Bao's concentration was several times greater than that of an ordinary person—a privilege granted to him by Heaven. However, whenever An Bao pushed himself to think deeply and still found himself utterly perplexed, these regulators would fall into mental gridlock or chaos.

And An Bao remained unaware of all this until his trials began.
