Conrad kept on watching the woman. After about three minutes, he concluded.
"Okay."
"I watched enough."
"I know for a fact that she is some sort of a nen user who wants to target me."
Conrad also understood an important fact about the woman as he watched her more.
Her actions and mannerisms—basically, what he felt from the woman was more of an adept nen user than an amateur one.
She was much more like a ghost than just an individual.
"This is not her first time."
"It is more than likely that she has done such events in her past." Conrad believed.
In the end, he stopped using Obelisk actively and then left the bathroom.
Due to using Obelisk more and more, his own mastery of his ability has increased a lot.
Now, as long as he uses the active mode of Obelisk and decides on a target and watches the target enough, he can follow the target without needing to use active mode but the passive mode.
He would not know the details, but the location and direction can be sensed as long as the target is inside the area that obelisks are covering.
"Hmm."
Conrad stopped.
"She is about one hundred meters right of me, inside of the room."
"She is moving towards the separating area of the floors."
"She may be going to his room."
Conrad took a deep breath.
"I should kill her before she reaches her room."
"I am not sure when she started following me and doing stuff."
"Maybe reaching her room is the only thing she needs to do to activate what she needs to do."
Conrad did not, much after killing the two enemies, but it does not matter.
Maybe she met with him when he did not notice. She did something to him that he has not recognized.
If his thoughts are true, the picking up of his dirty plate may be the last thing she needed to do to reach her purpose.
It was not the best guess, but Conrad knew that he could not risk it.
Fighting against a nen user in a one-versus-one is something simpler and easier to know.
But such attacks would not be great for him.
He was lucky that Adex, leader of the Light Upon Us, did say that his ability was not part of a ritual.
But what if this woman, whatever she wants to do, counts as a ritual of nen?
If it is not a simple nen attack but a ritual nen type, then the result is some sort of a curse.
"Ohh..."
"I need to be quick." Conrad stopped thinking and then started moving.
-
Mesivi, after watching her target Conrad for some time, was finally able to take the plate he used.
As long as she sets a target and starts her ability, she can see the DNA remaining of her target while using Gyo.
So, she was sure that the plate she picked does belong to Conrad and when he ate food.
Due to using a plate and eating food, saliva of his, in the end, will remain on the plate. The amount of DNA is not much, but it is still the DNA and enough to fulfill the first condition.
She moved towards her room and passed hallways.
"Now."
"I need to find a way to make him enter a room where I invoke the ability or take an item into his hands that I place the curse on..."
"This is the real and hard part."
"But I should be able to do it," Mesivi thought.
As she turned again and looked at the long hallway.
She noticed something.
"It is too quiet."
"Did I get noticed?"
Her hands got up, and she started using more of Nen around her body, some sort of a bridge between "Ten" and "Ren," not as powerful as the Ren and not as weak as the Ten.
A simple application of nen is easy for most nen users that have enough mastery over nen.
"I am not sure..." Mesivi thought and took one step forward and then two.
She then kept on walking.
She opened the door and then looked at the stairs for a moment, and then she noticed the orb.
All of her hairs on her body tingled up from the fear.
She used Gyo on her feet and jumped back with all of her force.
A huge blast of nen radiated from the orb.
"Boooom!!"
The cone-shaped blast hit more than seven meters of distance, destroying the walls of the hallway and the door and some of the lights.
Mesivi was lucky.
Due to an early response, she was back to a turning point.
But she did not know something so simple but also fatal.
"That was never my intention." She heard a word and then felt something hard on her neck for a moment, and then her head fell to the ground and rolled three meters.
Conrad looked at the corpse of the woman, and then after understanding that she was dead for real, he left. Using a handkerchief inside of his pocket, he cleaned the "blade."
The Aura Blast Orb was just a facade.
He never intended to kill her with it.
He just wanted her to be focusing on escaping from the blast while she waited for her only location to escape to to deal fatal damage.
If he attacked directly, there is always a chance that a counter-ability nen type may activate due to conditions of not being "in the battle."
"Getting attacked unprovoked" and "protection against assassination" and those types of abilities may not be a big deal but are still a pain in the ass.
"Now."
"I should be more comfortable."
"That woman, if she were to fight me directly, would still be able to fight for some time."
Conrad thought and went to his room.
Now, Diamond Airship will clean the area and uncover everything. It is more than likely that they will tell the people if anybody knows about it that there is some sort of a mechanical failure.
They most likely never explain that somebody is dead, just harmed.
