Chapter 129 - Problem With Anisa and Adarte - Back In The Arena - Chapter 129

After about half a day, Conrad was back in his room at the Heavens Arena.

"At least it did not take too much time," he thought.

He first took a shower and calmed down his mind and then started revisiting his use of the Blink – Vanishing One ability on the exam.

He did not need to think much of it, as he was at this point pretty used to testing it out. But he did want to try something out.

"When I made the ability, I said that I can teleport to places that I am looking at and inside of my 'En.'"

It was not something big, but he still wanted to try.

"Can I use reflective surfaces to see and teleport, like mirrors and glass?"

The theory was simple: If his "En" is covering it and he can see the place he wants to teleport via mirror, would it work, or would he just teleport to the mirror?

That was something to be tested. It was not like he had anything to do for the time being.

Conrad went to the training room and brought up some mirrors and made a small blocked corridor for himself using blocks of hollow steel boxes that are in the training room.

Conrad then prepared himself, activated his "En," and then looked at his target to teleport from the mirror, and then he vanished and manifested in his designated target.

He smiled and nodded.

"So, it does work."

"As long as I can see it, it does not matter if I see it from a reflective area."

Conrad smiled.

"Maybe I should put a critical damage ability after teleporting from a reflective area..."

"If I teleport using a mirror and reflective area instead of just directly looking and then perform an attack after the teleport, within three seconds, my attack will be two or three times more powerful..."

Conrad thought about it for real and then laughed.

"It would work. It would have worked a lot better if I were an enhancer, but anyways."

"By testing like this, I can find more and more capabilities, conditions, and different ways to achieve supernatural powers that other nen users would have no chance to imagine at all."

Conrad then took a deep breath and left to his room.

While he was about to enter his room, he saw a familiar face.

"Adarte." He smiled as he looked at him. Adarte smiled back, and Conrad stopped.

"I would have expected you to call me before you come to my room," he said.

Adarte smiled and then answered.

"I wanted to make you a surprise."

Conrad's grin never left his face, but he just nodded.

"A surprise."

"You," he said.

Adarte nodded.

"Yeah, you are surprised, right?"

"Tell me you are?"

Conrad took a deep breath and then entered his room; passing him, he did not invite him weirdly.

"I will talk to you in a second."

Adarte nodded.

"Yeah, I am waiting for you here; we should talk outside," he said and then just kept on smiling.

Conrad entered his room and then called Anisa.

The call connected in seconds.

"Anisa."

"What is going on with Adarte?"

Anisa heard Conrad speak.

"What is it? We were drinking three days ago; he seemed fine to me."

Conrad shook his head and then asked.

"He is speaking about surprising me, suddenly appearing at my door."

"I never would have imagined him to say "Surprise" or anything."

"He is also adamant on accepting me, despite the fact that I am surprised to see him or shocked."

Anisa thought for a moment.

"You think he is under some sort of an influence."

Conrad thought for a moment and then touched his chin.

"It can happen..." he added.

Then, Anisa said.

"I would not be surprised for him to be under some kind of influence. Are you surprised to see him?"

Conrad stopped the call the moment Anisa told him such an answer, and then he looked at the door.

"It seems like they are getting controlled by a nen user, a manipulator of some sort."

"Whoever it is, the ability to control them and keep them talking naturally means it is not coercive to the limit."

"The ability also has some sort of verbal agreement with an emotional agreement that focuses on the words 'surprise' and 'shocked'; the new user himself is not needed; whoever he affects can affect other people."

"But there must be some other conditions too."

"Just me agreeing to be surprised by them or their actions is not nearly enough to induce a manipulator effect."

"It is more than likely that the nen user that affected Anisa and Adarte has two abilities: one for taking control of them and making them do his bidding, not directly but subtly, and the second one is taking control or harm to the target from them."

"The second ability, 'surprise,' is the trigger, and then there must be two or three conditions that need to be multiplied."

Conrad's mind worked in a flash, and he made some theories within his mind.

He did not care who this enemy was; he just wanted to know how to deal with him.
