Nora's POV
"I'm going to need more details than that," James says, his voice steady and controlled. God, I'm grateful for his ability to keep his emotions in check when mine are all over the place.
"The demon from last night possessed someone and spoke to me." I raise my hand before he can cut me off. "I don't trust her, but she claims to know the angel banishing spell. She says she was trying to send Matteo away and had no idea it would harm me. Charlette hasn't given us any updates, which means they're hitting dead ends. If I learn how the spell works, I can protect myself against it. Or maybe use it to send other angels packing."
"It will cause you pain."
"True, but what we're facing now could be much worse. You can't argue with that."
James stares at me, those dark blue eyes burning into mine. He refuses to accept anything that might cause me harm, can't bear the thought of supporting such a concept.
"Tell me about this demon," he says curtly, waiting for me to continue.
