The conversation flows naturally as Lena settles deeper into the couch cushions, her curiosity evident in her bright eyes.
"Antonia's enthusiasm about organizing the shower caught me completely off guard," Lena remarks, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Though I suppose it makes sense since she handled your wedding arrangements."
I nod, a wry smile playing at my lips. "She did handle everything beautifully. It's unfortunate I can't share the full story with more people. Can you imagine the headlines? Vampire's progeny organizes baby shower for her quasi-stepmother-sister who conceived with her vampire creator during his human curse."
The absurdity draws genuine laughter from Lena. "That would definitely make supernatural history. She mentioned choosing a March date because of its special meaning?"
"That date marks when James and I first crossed paths," I explain, my hand unconsciously moving to my growing belly.
