Chapter 107 - Chapter 107 A Huge Black Cat

Chapter 107 A Huge Black Cat

Time always flies when you're focused on something. Before Finney Hellseg could even react, summer vacation was over.

September arrived, and the weather began to change. The muggy heat dissipated considerably, and Finney Hellseg felt a little out of sorts after returning to school.

"What have you been doing all summer? I've been trying to get you to come out!"

Billy was probably the person who contacted him most frequently during the summer. Anyone with a brain could guess what he was up to, so he eventually stopped answering the phone.

  "I'm busy,"

Finney Hellseg replied irritably. Besides Billy, several girls had also contacted him, but he was grinding experience points, researching spells, and practicing abilities with Skye.

Having never studied time management, he could only ruthlessly refuse these invitations.

  "What's he busy with?"

Billy perked up and immediately moved closer to Finney Hellseg, whispering, "I haven't heard anything about the Divine Punishment Knight appearing during summer vacation. What has he been doing all this time?"

  "He's been busy studying."

Finney Hellseg wasn't lying to Billy. He had indeed been diligently studying dimensional knowledge lately, even putting aside his battle with the Hulk.

Thanks to Mordo's careful guidance and his own hard work, he had begun to slowly sense the existence of dimensions, a prerequisite for mastering 'Mirror Space'.

However, although he could vaguely sense it, he was always a little short, like one foot hovering at the door, unable to step out with the other.

Before Finney Hellseg could think of a solution, school started.

  "Studying?"

Billy looked surprised, then quickly asked curiously, "Studying what? Did he forge a new suit of armor? Or is he learning other divine punishment powers?"

Finney Hellseg looked at Billy with a headache. He felt it was necessary to find an opportunity to get this guy to give up his exploration of the Divine Punishment Knight, otherwise, he would be driven crazy sooner or later.

After giving Billy a perfunctory answer, Finney Hellseg continued to ponder the questions of cultivation.

At school, Finney Hellseg was somewhat distracted all day, his mind preoccupied with methods to master dimensional space.

After much thought, he finally decided to start with portals.

His sudden insight into dimensional matters stemmed from the strange portal he had previously opened. Through his persistent questioning,

the Ancient One had revealed some details, at least letting him know that it wasn't Earth or some other part of the universe, but a sealed dimensional space.

This surprised Finney Hellseg; he hadn't expected dimensional spaces to be sealed.

Although he couldn't reopen the portal now, it didn't diminish his curiosity about this space. His tireless exploration had led to his rapid progress.

Therefore, he felt that to truly understand dimensional space, he needed to start from this angle.

However, this dimensional space that the Ancient One refused to reveal was inaccessible now, and even if he could enter, he wouldn't dare to venture in recklessly, given the Ancient One's warnings of inherent danger.

Therefore, Finney Hellseg decided to try exploring another dimensional space.

After several days of careful consideration, Finney Hellseg finally decided to try again. One weekend, instead of trying at home, he chose to do it in Kamar-Taj.

That way, if anything went wrong, he could immediately seek help from the Ancient One.

In the antique-style room, Finney Hellseg stood quietly, his mind blank, his wrist ring hovering, slowly drawing circles in the air.

But somehow, when he deliberately tried to recreate the previous scene, he couldn't. The portal's energy sparks didn't even flicker; there was no sign of it opening.

He tried for hours, but ultimately failed.

Finney Hellseg wasn't discouraged. This was one of the most profound spells in Kamar-Taj; if it were so easy to master, so few people would have learned it.

In the following days, Finney Hellseg's life seemed to return to its usual routine. Every three to five days, he would challenge Hulk to a duel, trying every possible way to win.

After several lessons, Hulk sensed something was amiss and began actively choosing battlefields, even demanding weapons, and eventually even restraining himself from eating 'Violet Chicken Wraps' before battles.

This made it difficult for Finney Hellseg to completely suppress Hulk's anger, so the battles occasionally ended in a draw.

Even so, Hulk continued to provide Finney Hellseg with a massive amount of experience during this time, and he also didn't slack off at all in Kamar-Taj, even sometimes going to Tony for extra practice. All of this brought him closer and closer to his sixth draw.

As time strolled into October, Finney Hellseg still hadn't given up exploring dimensional space.

However, after so many attempts, he no longer limited his location to Kamar-Taj. Occasionally, after practicing his skills, he would explore a bit first before opening a portal to return.

October 7th, somewhere in the Himalayas.

As usual, Finney Hellseg prepared to clear his mind and try exploring the unknown dimensional space one last time before returning.

With each day of cultivation, Finney Hellseg's mastery of portals continued to increase, but unfortunately, using portals didn't grant the system experience.

As the saying goes, a blind cat will eventually catch a dead mouse if it keeps searching, and a foolish rabbit will eventually appear if you keep waiting.

After nearly a month of relentless exploration, finally today, Finney Hellseg encountered that dead mouse, the rabbit that bumped into the tree.

Staring at the suddenly opened portal, Finney Hellseg was stunned. He hadn't expected to succeed; he was just trying it out as usual. For a moment, driven by his habit of going home, he unconsciously walked in.

Once inside, Finney Hellseg realized what he had done and was instantly terrified.

This place wasn't as pitch black as last time; in fact, it was quite beautiful. The surroundings seemed to be a grassland, but the sky wasn't blue; it had a purplish hue.

Finney Hellseg didn't know where he was, but it didn't seem to be the Dark Dimension, which relieved him somewhat. If he had encountered Dormammu, going in like this would have been suicide.

However, no matter where he was, Finney Hellseg felt he couldn't linger in the unknown. Without a second's hesitation, he immediately turned to leave through the portal.

  "Who are you?"

But just as he turned his head, a female voice suddenly rang out, and he instantly felt as if he had been locked onto.

Finney Hellseg's hair stood on end, his body stiffened, and without daring to look at the source of the voice, he suppressed his panic and leaped towards the portal.

Just as he was about to cross the portal, a jet-black claw suddenly appeared from nowhere, slapping him back. The portal flickered slightly, the sparks dimmed, and then it disappeared.

At that moment, Finney Hellseg finally saw what had stopped him.

  "What a huge black cat!"

That was Finney Hellseg's first thought. Then, focusing closer, he realized it was a black panther, its fur jet black without a single blemish.

A pair of pale blue eyes gleamed, fixed intently on Finney Hellseg!
