Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The Importance of One’s Background

Looking down, Ender could roughly make out the situation below with his eyesight.

The boulder that had originally blocked the cave entrance had shattered into several pieces, covering half of the opening, with a touch of white mixed among the rubble.

Ender looked up, his eyes gleaming with fierce light as he stared at the Night Bird!

The Night Bird tilted its head slightly, its beast-like eye glancing at Ender with disdain, mockery, and a hint of wariness.

Planetary Level Demon Beasts, in terms of intelligence, are no less than ordinary humans.

In the Night Bird's eyes, a human who was not even Planetary Level was not worth too much attention, but also could not be ignored.

Ender did not make a move; he was very rational now, knowing what he should do.

If he hadn't known that Little Eighteen and Nineteen weren't wearing white beast-skin clothes today, he would probably have been furious by now.

Ignoring the weak but somewhat threatening human, the Night Bird, with only its prey in mind, spread its wings and swooped down.

"Ignoring me? How arrogant!"

Seeing the Night Bird ignore him and even plan to make a move in front of him, Ender's gaze turned icy.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh—!

Amidst the sound of air being torn, ten bone spike shot out.

These ten bone spike scattered, blocking the Night Bird's dive path!

As if it had anticipated this, the Night Bird turned its body, tucked its wings to protect its head and abdomen, and spun downwards.

Thud, thud, thud!

One by one, the bone spike struck the Night Bird, causing it to tumble and flip several times in the air, with several black, metal-like feathers falling from its tumbling body.

"Chirp—!"

Finally, with a painful long cry, the Night Bird flapped its wings several times in succession to steady itself, slowly raising its head which it had previously protected.

Looking at Ender, who had the ten bone spike flying back to his side, the Night Bird's beast-like eyes contained emotions of respect, loathing, and anger.

It had underestimated this human in front of it.

The power of those bone spike far exceeded its imagination; they had almost pierced through its tough feather defense.

It had originally thought it was just an ant, but it didn't expect it could threaten it!

Seeing that the Night Bird only lost a few feathers when facing the attack of his ten bone spike, Ender was somewhat startled.

With his Spiritual Force intensity, which was more than ten times stronger than those of the same rank, supplemented by bone spike made from Planetary Level Tier 3 Demon Beast fangs, it only caused this much damage.

"With this level of feather hardness, this Night Bird is probably not Planetary Level Tier 1!

"Since a single bone spike's cannot pierce its tough feathers, then use two stacked!"

Ender narrowed his eyes, and of the sixteen bone spike around him, Twelve flew in front of him, forming six pairs, with only four bone spike remaining to guard his side.

The Night Bird watched Ender's actions, making no move, just watching quietly.

Suddenly, it flapped its wings and flew straight towards Ender.

"Go!"

With a thought, Ender sent four pairs of bone spike flying out at the same time the Night Bird moved.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

The four pairs of bone spike shot towards the Night Bird with a tearing sound, moving forward relentlessly.

The remaining two pairs of bone spike, however, fell downwards behind Ender.

Seeing the four pairs of bone spike approaching, the Night Bird flapped its wings fiercely, rising rapidly, narrowly avoiding the four pairs of bone spike.

Then it plummeted downwards again, seemingly playing an unexpected trick, intending to kill the two human cubs hidden in the hill below while Ender was caught off guard.

"I knew you'd play this trick!"

Knowing that Planetary Level Demon Beasts' intelligence was no less than that of ordinary humans, Ender had already made contingency plans; he could not let the Night Bird go to Little Nineteen's secret base in the hill below.

He manipulated the four pairs of bone spike to chase closely behind it, though their speed had slowed down significantly.

The two pairs of bone spike that had separated earlier, however, moved upwards, sandwiching the Night Bird from two sides.

The intelligence of Planetary Level Demon Beasts was indeed not inferior to that of ordinary humans, but compared to the cunning of humans, Demon Beasts, who were accustomed to solving problems with strength, were still far behind.

Seeing its intention exposed, the Night Bird, facing a pincer attack, quickly made a decision.

Of two evils, choose the lesser; it decided to endure the human's attack and continue to hunt the two human cubs in the hill below.

It had realized that the two human cubs in the hill were very important to this human, and with his protection, they wouldn't be easy to get.

But even if it wasn't easy, it had to be done; compared to directly attacking a strong human who could fly, attack, and defend, the two human cubs hidden in the hill were clearly easier to kill.

As long as it killed the humans and brought the bodies back, whether it was a strong one or a cub, its mission would be considered complete.

Thud, thud!

As the two pairs of bone spike struck the Night Bird one after another, two metallic clanging sounds echoed loudly, reverberating for several miles around.

These two pairs of bone spike, with each pair divided into one front and one back, struck in sequence; as the first bone spike's struck the Night Bird's tough feathers, the second bone spike's immediately struck the tail of the first bone spike's.

Using the impact force of the latter, the former successfully drilled into the Night Bird's flesh and penetrated deep within.

Therefore, after the metallic clanging sound, a faint "squelch" of the bone spike's drilling into flesh was heard.

The immense impact force of the bone spike caused the Night Bird to momentarily halt and have a tendency to fly backward and upwards.

Thud, thud, thud…

Continuous metallic clanging sounds rang out as the four pairs of bone spike chasing from above struck the Night Bird.

However, the impact force of these four pairs of bone spike was very weak and did not cause it to accelerate downwards as expected.

"How could this be?"

The Night Bird was puzzled, flapping its blood-holed wings, intending to continue its downward dive.

But at this moment, two more bone spike struck it from below, causing its body to halt.

Chirp!

The Night Bird let out an angry cry, but what greeted it were continuous bone spike attacking from the side.

"Feint? Trying to play mind games with us humans, you're overestimating yourself!"

Ender watched the Night Bird being continuously attacked by the bone spike, calculating the time in his mind, "They should be here soon."

In the Royce Family's Encampment in the valley below.

"What's that sound?"

"What happened?"

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

From nearly twenty tents, six figures emitting faint light emerged.

Before the tent flaps could even fall, the people had already flown into the air.

The six people were in the sky above the tents, looking at each other for a while.

Finally, someone noticed movement in the sky and quickly said, "Look at the sky! Someone is fighting a Demon Beast!"

There was no need for further identification; all six were Planetary Level experts, and with their eyesight, they naturally all saw it.

"It's Eleven!"

One person easily identified the person fighting the Demon Beast as Ender.

"Go!"

Another person shouted, then shot up into the sky, with the others following closely behind.

Noticing the light rising from below, the Night Bird couldn't help but look.

It was fine if it didn't look, but when it did, it was startled.

It was human experts!

And not just one!

Seeing human experts arriving, the Night Bird dared not continue to entangle with Ender, nor did it want to kill the two human cubs below anymore.

What was the mission? How could it be more important than saving its life!

Escape!

Escape quickly!

If it didn't escape now, it would be doomed!

Using the impact force of the bone spike's attacks, the Night Bird flapped its wings continuously, its will to survive making it fly at its fastest speed.

"Want to leave! Stay here!"

Seeing the Night Bird trying to escape, a Planetary Level expert from below controlled his Spirit Weapon to pursue, moving at an astonishing speed!

Standing in the air on his Bone Shield, Ender watched the Night Bird's fleeing figure.

"If I fought you one-on-one, I wouldn't be your match, but the unfortunate thing is—"

"I don't need to fight you one-on-one; I just need to entangle you long enough, because I have people behind me!"

A Planetary Level expert flew to Ender's side, "Eleven! What's going on?"

"I'll tell you later, I'll go down and check first!"

Recalling his Divine Thought, Ender didn't answer, leaving a sentence before controlling his Bone Shield to fly towards the hill below.
