Chapter 54 -  Shisui Takes the Field — Kotoamatsukami

"Susanoo?"

"So he can already activate Susanoo at barely ten-something years old? Itachi really is a genius…"

"And yet his little brother actually forced him to this point."

"The Uchiha clan… their combat power is completely broken, hahaha—huh?! Fuck!!!"

At the edge of the Uchiha compound,

a man in a black cloak and mask had been watching with great interest, nodding and commenting to himself.

But the next second, he saw something he simply could not believe.

To the point that he cursed out loud.

In his line of sight, the Susanoo enveloping Itachi—

was smashed apart by a single slap.

That's right. Smashed. Cleanly broken.

Under the violent backlash, Itachi—already physically frail—spat out a mouthful of blood and passed out on the spot.

Obito narrowed his eyes, genuinely unsure what expression he should even wear.

Bare-handed… breaking Susanoo?!

Bro—are you Hashirama or something?!

No—wait.

It's that crimson chakra!

Obito instantly realized something was wrong. His gaze locked onto the red chakra shrouding Jin's body.

Behind the mask, the eye filled with shock instantly turned scarlet.

"That is—Nine-Tails chakra?!"

"Damn it! How does this guy have the Nine-Tails' power?!"

Realizing the danger, he could no longer hold back and flashed forward.

If it really was Nine-Tails chakra, then yes—crushing Itachi to death with one hand was entirely possible.

He wasn't about to let the helper he had worked so hard to recruit die just like that.

Whoosh.

In the next instant, only a ripple of space remained where he had been.

At the ancestral hall.

Just as Jin was about to make his move, a sharp voice suddenly rang out beside his ear:

"Stop!"

So you've finally arrived, Obito.

The corner of Jin's mouth curled upward.

But the hand gripping Itachi did not loosen in the slightest.

He kept his right hand clenched around Itachi and turned his head toward the source of the voice.

There stood a black-robed man wearing a mask, quietly emerging from the shadows.

Obito.

Or rather, "Tsuchiko"—currently swaggering around under the name Uchiha Madara.

"How about leaving this guy here?"

All of a sudden, a crazy thought surfaced in Jin's mind.

With the abilities he currently possessed, he might actually be able to keep Obito here.

And if the chain reaction played out just right, maybe even Madara himself would have to stay buried in his coffin for good.

Of course, Obito had no idea what Jin was thinking.

Standing ten meters away, he spoke hoarsely:

"He's your biological older brother. You can't kill him."

Jin's sheer abnormality had made even Obito feel a trace of caution.

With no choice, he tried to play the family card.

Maybe he could save Itachi this way.

Unfortunately—

It failed.

Since when did Obito start walking the "power of family" route?

Jin shook the unconscious "One-versus-Seven" in his hand indifferently and said,

"It's because he's my biological brother. Otherwise, I'd have strangled him to death back when we were kids."

That was actually the truth.

Eliminating danger at the cradle stage—that was the correct way to do things.

"Talking about feelings? Talking about feelings is good."

But Jin's answer made Obito completely relax.

He brushed at the hem of his cloak and pointed toward the courtyard, where countless clan members lay unconscious.

"As the son of the Uchiha clan head, can you really bear to watch your entire clan perish inside Uchiha Itachi's Tsukuyomi world?"

"This illusion can only be undone by Itachi himself."

"As long as you hand Itachi over to me, I'll have him release the genjutsu on them. How about it?"

As he spoke, he pointed straight at Itachi.

The meaning was crystal clear.

Don't harm Itachi—otherwise, the clan would remain trapped forever.

This was naked blackmail.

The first to react was Fugaku.

He wanted to speak, but it felt like something was stuck in his throat.

No words would come out.

Emotionally, he didn't want his sons to kill each other.

And as clan head, he also didn't want his people to die like this.

But…

He hesitated.

In the end, after a moment of struggle, he decisively lowered his head and stayed silent.

"Genjutsu? Is Tsukuyomi really that impressive?"

Behind Jin, the crimson chakra hand casually shook Itachi again, like he was just an object—utterly without mercy.

"Cough—cough…"

Perhaps shaken too roughly, Itachi slowly regained consciousness.

He immediately realized what was happening.

Those calm, rippleless eyes once again filled with shock and disbelief.

His head drooped as his body dangled in the air, but his gaze remained fixed on Jin.

In that look were admiration, surprise, fatigue—and something like relief.

Finally steadying himself, he spoke softly:

"Jin… put me down. I'll release the genjutsu on the clan."

"You'll release it? Do I need you to release it?"

Jin shook his head and rejected him outright.

The words he spoke, however, left the other three Mangekyō-bearing Uchiha completely dumbfounded.

Fugaku scratched his head, his broad face full of confusion.

"Could it be… this kid is also good at genjutsu? That doesn't seem right…"

"I've never seen him train in genjutsu."

"And besides, Itachi's genjutsu… even I might not be able to—"

"He's going to compete with Itachi in genjutsu?"

Obito loosened his grip on the gunbai fan, almost wanting to laugh out loud.

He had observed Itachi for a long time and long since confirmed him as the true genius of the Uchiha clan.

And what were the Uchiha best at?

Genjutsu.

In Obito's eyes, Itachi's genjutsu had already reached a near-perfect realm.

As for Tsukuyomi failing earlier, he simply assumed Jin had resisted it using his own Mangekyō.

Resisting didn't mean matching it.

In Jin's hand, Itachi—upon hearing this—couldn't help but reveal a hint of pride and confidence.

"Jin, my genjutsu isn't something ordinary people can undo. You may resist it, but breaking it outright—"

Before he could finish, Jin casually pointed behind him, rolling his shoulders.

"I never said it was me."

"…What? Not you?!"

Itachi slowed his breathing and began to observe carefully.

Creak.

Creak.

At that moment, the sound of a wheelchair scraping against the ground came from behind the house.

Then, a man with tousled hair and bandages wrapped around his eyes slowly approached.

"Shisui? You're here to help me too? That's great—cough, cough!"

Itachi's eyes lit up as he exclaimed.

But because he was being shaken midair, he inhaled several big gulps of air instead.

He choked so badly his face turned green.

In his haste, he could only lower his gaze to look over—

And that single glance made him freeze.

In his vision—

Behind the bandages, the man's crimson Sharingan spun rapidly, transforming into four blade-like shapes.

"This is…"

"Kotoamatsukami?!"
