Chapter 184 - Chapter 184: Kael vs. The Six

"Who's there?!"

The Oracion Seis and the members of the Dark Guilds all whipped their heads toward the source of the attack.

A figure clad in white stood suspended in mid-air.

"What? Did you forget me so soon after our last meeting?"

"Kael!!!"

The Oracion Seis recognized him immediately. Although his appearance had changed drastically, Kael was the only one who could maintain such a casual attitude toward them.

They were well aware that Kael utilized Take Over magic, allowing him to transform by assuming the forms of different people.

This was clearly another one of his transformations.

"Angel!"

Brain ordered.

Angel instantly understood his intent.

She produced a gold Zodiac key. "Open, Gate of the Twins! Gemini!"

Two small figures were summoned.

"Gemini, retrieve the information on this guy!"

Poof!

Gemini instantly transformed into Lucy.

"Retrieving data... This is Kael's 'Murciélago' form... Insufficient information!"

Lucy had only seen Kael transform into Ulquiorra once during the early days; he hadn't used that form in her presence since.

"Kael, why aren't you using your previous form?"

Brain looked up at Kael, trying to bait out some information.

"I'll use whichever form I feel like. Does it look like I need your permission?" Kael scoffed.

Satoru Gojo was powerful, but that didn't make Ulquiorra weak.

Gojo's techniques were top-tier, but his destructive power felt slightly lacking at times. His strongest techniques had long charge times, making them easier to block or evade.

Even his ordinary strikes lacked a certain punch.

Of course, that was just nitpicking. Anyone would want a form with both perfect defenses and overwhelming power.

The reason he took over Ulquiorra's form, besides the fact that he was strong, was to deal with Nirvana.

A structure as massive as Nirvana would be a hassle for Gojo to handle. Even using Hollow Purple would be difficult to completely destroy something that size.

Furthermore, Hollow Purple had a long charge time, making it easy to interrupt.

Lanza del Relámpago, on the other hand, was perfect. Not only was its destructive power superior to Hollow Purple, but it could be fired instantly with an incredibly long range.

It was arguably the most destructive technique among all the forms Kael could take over.

He had originally planned to use Lanza del Relámpago to send both Nirvana and the Oracion Seis straight to hell, but he'd held back because some poor guys were still on top of the structure.

"Shit! This guy intends to destroy Nirvana!!!"

Cobra's expression shifted violently as he shouted.

"What?!"

The faces of the Oracion Seis members contorted.

"Destroy Nirvana?! That's impossible! Cobra, you sure you didn't hear wrong?"

Angel was in disbelief. How could a mere human destroy something as massive as Nirvana?

"I'm not wrong! I heard it clearly! This guy plans to level Nirvana!"

Cobra stated firmly.

Kael looked at Cobra. "Magic that hears the voice of the heart? Interesting."

Fairy Tail had similar telepathy magic used in combat, like Warren's Telepathy.

"Kill him!"

Brain gave the command. Regardless of what the boy intended, they just had to put him in the ground.

Cobra was the first to act. They had worked too hard to find Nirvana; he wouldn't allow anyone to ruin it.

Cobra drove his purple snake toward Kael. The massive serpent lashed its tail like a whip, aiming to knock Kael out of the sky.

Kael didn't even flinch. He simply raised a hand.

Clack!

The snake's tail slammed against Kael's arm.

"Agh!"

Kael didn't make a sound, but the purple snake's face contorted in agony.

Hierro. It was the innate ability of an Arrancar—a skin like iron armor that swords could not pierce.

"Cubellios, what's wrong?!"

Seeing the snake in pain, Cobra couldn't help but feel tense.

Snap!

Kael's hand clamped onto the purple snake. With a violent wrench, he swung it around, leaving both the serpent and Cobra dazed and dizzy.

Then, Kael hurled them both back toward the group.

"Liquid Earth!"

Hoteye pointed a finger. The ground surged upward like a wave, catching the purple snake and Cobra.

"In a blur!"

In the next heartbeat, Kael appeared beside Hoteye. Hoteye's Eye had already detected him.

"Crap!"

Before Hoteye could react, Kael drove a kick into his waist.

"Gwahhh!"

Hoteye let out a pained cry as his body was sent horizontal, flying through the air.

"You bastard!"

"Poison Dragon's Iron Fist!"

Cobra scrambled up and lunged at Kael.

He drove a fist toward Kael, who threw a punch to meet it.

BOOM—!

The ground beneath them shattered. A powerful shockwave rippled outward.

At that moment, a figure blurred toward Kael at high speed.

He lashed out with a kick toward Kael's face, a move so fast Kael barely had time to react.

Bang!

"So hard!"

Kael didn't scream, but the attacker let out a cry of pain.

Kael caught a glimpse of the figure and blinked. It was Racer, the guy he had killed earlier. Was he still alive? Impossible. He was absolutely certain he'd finished him. That meant this was a fake.

Kael's guess was right. This was a copy of Racer created by Angel using Gemini. Gemini could take on the forms of people they had copied. Racer's magic was perfect for combat, so she had copied him, but she hadn't expected the real Racer to be killed by Kael.

Before Kael could strike back—

Zing—!

A beam of magic shot toward Kael.

BOOM—!

The beam scored a direct hit on Kael.

"Yeah! Direct hit! I got him!!"

Angel hopped up and down with delight. She had killed Kael. This was the man who had defeated the Wizard Saints. This feat alone would make her name echo throughout Ishgar.

"Hey. Don't decide someone's dead on your own."

Kael's voice drifted out from the smoke.

The smile on Angel's face froze. As the smoke cleared, Kael stood there, completely unscathed.

"Dark Capriccio!"

Brain raised his staff. A massive swarm of magic bullets, resembling dark spirits, rained down from the sky toward Kael's position.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

"Did we get him?!"

The group stared intensely at the site of the explosions. Soon, the smoke thinned out.

Kael was still standing there, perfectly fine, with only a light dusting on his clothes. The sight made their hearts sink.

"What a monster!"

Even though they knew he wouldn't go down easily, the fact that he was unharmed was a massive headache.

Kael's previous form used a technique to block magic, but this form was simply tanking it with his physical body. Somehow, this felt even more broken.

However, it didn't matter. No matter how much he could tank, if they all attacked at once, how many hits could he really take?

"As expected of the Oracion Seis. Trying to settle this in my base form is a bit of a hassle. I guess I'll get a little serious."

Kael slowly drew his Zanpakuto and spoke softly:

"Enclose, Murciélago!"
