"What is that pillar of light?"
Wendy looked at the black pillar of light with confusion, the darkness making her feel an instinctive sense of dread.
"Look, something is flowing out of those creepy black trees and getting sucked into the beam. What on earth is going on?"
"Could it be... is Nirvana where that beam is? If that's the case, does it mean they've already found it?!"
Carla voiced her suspicion. Even if they didn't know exactly what Nirvana was, a magical fluctuation this terrifying had to be something disastrous.
"Kael, what should we do now?"
Wendy was at a complete loss.
Kael gave a thin smile. "Don't worry. I'll handle 'Nirvana.' Carla, take Wendy and stay back a bit. Or you can go join the others."
He was at his strongest when he was alone.
Only when he was solo could he unleash his power without restraint or hesitation.
If he was with others, his strength would be severely hampered.
For instance, in the recent battle, had he been alone against the Oracion Seis, he could have expanded his domain and ended the fight in a heartbeat.
That was why he hadn't spoken up when Lucy suggested teaming up.

He understood the importance of a support very well.
A strong attacker paired with a strong support can overwhelm the enemy.
Wendy was a versatile support: offense, healing, and buffs.
He naturally wouldn't underestimate her role.

Wendy nodded obediently.
Though she had just met Kael, she found him very kind and approachable.
Carla watched with a deadpan expression.
It felt like Wendy had warmed up to Kael instantly.
"Whoa! Brain, is this the magic?"
Cobra arrived first, having flown in on his giant purple snake.
"Are you here, Cobra? That's right! This is 'Nirvana.' However, it's only just been unsealed. This isn't its true form yet."
"True form? What's the true form?"
"I can already smell the thick scent of money! This magic is incredibly valuable!!"
Hoteye arrived then, his eyes shimmering with the color of gold coins as he stared at the light pillar.
"Stop talking about money. It makes you look materialistic."
"To make the darkness rise and the light collapse—that is the true meaning of this magic."
Angel was the last to arrive. "Huh? Where's Racer? Doesn't he always get here first?"
Angel scanned the area but saw no sign of Racer.
A sorrowful expression crossed Brain's face. "Racer... has been killed..."
"What?!"
"Racer was killed? By who?!"
The group was stunned.
Racer's strength was nothing to scoff at, especially his magic.
It was difficult to defeat him and even harder to kill him.
"Who else? Of course it was that monster, Kael!"
Brain spoke with pure venom.
"Kael..."
A shadow fell over their faces.
The members of the Oracion Seis were relatively close in strength.
If Kael could kill Racer, he could kill them.
"Racer won't have died for nothing. This hatred... I will make Fairy Tail pay by wiping them out completely. Using the power of 'Nirvana,' I'll make him personally..."

Then, the earth began to quake.
With the pillar of light as the center, massive legs resembling those of an octopus rose from the ground.
They began to sway, having been buried deep beneath the earth for countless years.
Everyone watching was frozen in shock.
"What's happening—?!"
"The ground over there..."
"Uwaaaa!"...
Massive shards of rock tumbled from the giant legs, causing the spectators to scream and dodge.
After a moment, everything settled.
A colossal structure resembling a mechanical octopus hung above the Worth Woodsea.
"Finally... it's finally mine!!"
"The ultimate weapon to destroy the light, the Ultra Inversion Magic—Nirvana!!"
"Unity and trust—those powerful weapons of the legal guilds are useless now!! Hahahaha!!!"
Brain laughed maniacally.
The rest of the Oracion Seis were equally thrilled.
"It's finally ours!! Brain!! We actually got Nirvana!! Incredible. So this is the inheritance of the ancients. Cubellios, look, this is amazing, isn't it?" Cobra said to the snake beside him.
Hoteye's eyes glowed. "Money! Money! So much money!! Countless riches!!"
Angel said with excitement, "Our wishes... are they finally coming true?"
Brain waved a hand. "Look, my comrades. The vast world before us, the city of the ancients. This is the true face of Nirvana. Within this control chamber, I can move this city anywhere I desire."
"Moving it? Where do you want to send this thing? To Fairy Tail?"
The group looked at Brain.
Fairy Tail was the number one guild in Fiore, and some even called it the strongest guild in Ishgar.
Destroying Fairy Tail would deal a crushing blow to the guilds.
"Fairy Tail needs to be dealt with, but it isn't the first priority. There is another guild—one you could call the starting point of the light. Once it's destroyed, no one will be able to stop us."
"Forward!! Ancient city!!"
"Let my darkness become the 'Dawn'!!"

The giant legs of the ancient city began to lift, and it started to move.
