Ficool

Chapter 3 - 3

The afternoon was quite sunny, the sun was shining warmly, and a gentle breeze wafted through every corner of the room.Mr. Evander had no plans or activities scheduled for that day. He deliberately wanted to relax after having an argument with Shania that morning, as usual, about the issue of ancestry.

Evan decided to sit back and read in his yard. But he needed a cup of coffee to refresh his tired mind.

When he saw a young girl bringing him coffee, Evan was struck by the beauty of the waitress. But Evan became angry because he felt ignored when Rossie didn't know his name.

Rossie was taken aback for a moment, realizing she had made a mistake by not mentioning her employer's name.

"You don't know my name?!"

Evan's dark gray eyes pierced Rossie's heart.

"I'm sorry."

"Sir... Evander, I'm here to bring you your coffee."

"I just started working here today, sorry for being rude."

"Hmm... I'm here to replace my sick father, sorry if I made a mistake," Rossie replied boldly while standing tall.

Both arms were still holding the tray with a cup of coffee to be given to Evan.

Evan did not answer immediately, he stared intently at the beautiful face in front of him.

Even though the girl was dressed modestly, unlike other women Evan knew who were flashy and glamorous, wearing sexy clothes.

Rossie was the complete opposite of them all, but her elegant and simple beauty had captured Evan's attention.

"Just put it there, and get out of here!"

"You're just bothering me!"

Rossie was taken aback for a moment by the firm and cold tone of his command, so without waiting to be told twice, she placed it on the table, even though her hands were trembling slightly.

Meanwhile, Evan returned to reading his book in silence, but from the corner of his eye, he watched Rossie's natural beauty intently.

A moment of silence and distance created between the two of them.

But then, unexpectedly for Rossie, just as she was about to walk away, her foot caught on the table leg, causing her heel to twist, and her body leaned forward towards Evan, bumping into the cup of hot coffee.

'Thud.. Crash

"Ouch.. I'm sorry, sir!"

"Shit... what the hell are you doing?!"

Evan was startled when the coffee spilled onto his pants, especially since they were so close, almost touching.

"Damn it...!"

"Did you do this on purpose, huh...?"

Evan glanced at his wet pants, which also felt hot.

Rossie's eyes widened. She felt careless, perhaps due to a little fatigue, because she was not yet used to working as her father's replacement.

Rossie was stunned, her mind suddenly blank with guilt for making such a fatal mistake with her father's wealthy employer.

"I-I'm sorry... I'm sorry, Mr. Evan, I didn't mean to do it, my foot just caught on the table," Rossie said, then quickly pulled herself away from Evan.

"I'll clean it up and get a new change of clothes as soon as possible," Rossie continued.

The girl stammered, her heart pounding with anxiety, then started to walk towards the servants' quarters.

"Wait a minute!"

"No need to go anywhere."

Evan said while looking uncertainly at Rossie, then the man glanced at his pants, which were wet from spilled coffee. He felt very uncomfortable.

"My clothes are very expensive, do you know that?!" Evan snapped angrily.

"You've ruined my mood on this beautiful day!"

Rossie was shocked. He didn't expect his father's employer to be so... arrogant.

"But Mr. Evan, hmm... I already said it was an accident and I apologized. Why are you so angry?"

Evan suddenly glared at Rossie angrily when he heard his words.

"What did you say?!"

"Is it that easy to apologize?!" Evan snapped angrily.

"Then I'll buy you a new change of clothes," Rossie replied, daring to argue with Evan.

"What? Buy me clothes? Are you crazy? Can you even afford it?!" Evan laughed cynically and coldly.

"Who do you think you are, daring to say that to me... hey, what's your name?!" Evan narrowed his eyes, surprised that this was the first time a servant had dared to argue with him. Usually, none of them ever made mistakes, such as daring to spill coffee on his pants, let alone argue with him.

"I... hmm... my name is Rossie. Actually, I'm replacing my father because he's sick."

Evan raised one eyebrow, his handsome face with its strong jawline looking thoughtful.

"Is that so? What's your father's name?"

"Henry... he usually takes care of cleaning the horse stables."

Evan flashed his cold smile again.

"Go back to work, what are you waiting for!"

Evan ordered Rossie to leave with a wave of his hand, as if shooing the beautiful girl away.

"Yes, sir, I apologize again," said Rossie, nodding politely and walking back to where she had been working.

As she walked, Rossie grumbled to herself.

"It turns out that my father's employer is an arrogant man with a bad temper. Just because he is rich, he can treat the common people however he likes and look down on us."

"I will never want to see him again," muttered Rossie as she pouted and frowned, her expression very unpleasant to look at.

Meanwhile, Evan, with a gloomy face, stood up and walked towards his room. He intended to change his pants, which were wet from coffee stains. Right at the entrance, he bumped into Shania.

"What's wrong, Evan? I thought I heard you talking loudly to someone earlier," Shania frowned in surprise.

"It's no big deal, just my pants got spilled on by the new waiter," Evan replied casually as he continued walking.

Shania glanced at her husband's pants, which indeed had a wet stain on them.

"How could there be such a careless maid? Surely you punished her, didn't you?"

Shania followed her husband into the room out of curiosity.

"Not really... I let the girl go back to work," Eva replied briefly.

Shania was stunned as she watched Evan take off all his clothes and stared at his well-proportioned, muscular body.

"It's not like you to forgive a servant's mistake. Usually, you would at least fire her, and in the worst case, you would send her to Antarctica," Shania replied with a cold chuckle.

In fact, Evan was a perfectionist and also cruel. He did not tolerate even the slightest mistake and did not hesitate to exile anyone who dared to offend him to a remote area until that person felt frustrated.

"That's none of your business, Shania. You'd better think of a way to give me a child from your womb, or do you prefer to separate from me?" snapped Evan, glaring sharply at the woman who was his wife.

"Just divorce me now. You know... our marriage was forced!" said Shania sarcastically.

"Yes, it's true... you will never change, you only love Jeffrey, and I'm sick of you too."

"Fine... let's just get a divorce!"

"You really are too much, Shania. I've been patient with your attitude for so long, but you always ignore me."

"It's up to you, Evander," Shania snapped coldly.

Evan, who had finished getting dressed, walked out of the room. The man walked toward the backyard where his horse ranch was located. Finally, he found the beautiful girl who had been occupying his thoughts.

Evan was stunned for a moment. This time, he observed Rossie from a distance for quite a while, watching her every move as she bathed one of the brown horses.

Rossie's beautiful face, covered in sweat and glistening in the sunlight, looked enchanting and special to Evander.

"Hmm... it seems I have found the woman who is suitable to be my second wife and also bear my child."

"If it weren't for Grandpa Simmon's orders, I wouldn't want to go through all this trouble. I could just make Aaron disappear, but of course, the whole family would condemn me... damn it!"

Evan continued his monologue, unaware that Shania had heard everything her husband said. She was standing behind him at a distance, having deliberately followed Evan. She was puzzled by her husband's behavior.

After standing there for several minutes in silence, Evan took his phone out of his pants pocket. He intended to call his trusted assistant.

"Joel, meet me in the backyard near Castalia Ranch."

"Yes, sir, I'll be right there!"

Not long after, Joel approached Evan. After nodding respectfully, he asked,

"Yes, Mr. Evan... what can I do for you?"

Evan stared blankly and sighed deeply. He decided to make a plan that involved Rossie.

"Try to find out about a girl named Rossie. Look, she's working as a horse groom over there."

"You also find out information about her father, Henry. He's one of the workers here," said Evan, still staring at Rossie.

"I have a plan for them," he whispered mysteriously.

That was the beginning of Rossie's father being framed and ending up in prison, all because of Evan, who wanted to marry Rossie.

***

The scene returned to the prison, at the moment when Rossie had finished signing the contract marriage agreement.

The proposal stated that she must be willing to carry Evan's child to term and give birth safely and healthily.

"I've signed it, now fulfill your promise to free my father. You must take him to the hospital immediately," Rossie said curtly.

Evan frowned and glared at Rossie. "Is that how you talk to your future husband?"

Rossie gasped angrily while clenching her fists.

"Mr. Evan, I'm begging you, please free my father," said Rossie, bowing her head to hold back her emotions.

"Well, that sounds good. Be an obedient girl and always be sweet," said Evan sarcastically.
