Chapter 4 - Chapter 004

"Bianca I'm begging you in the name of everything we've had together in the past, just untie me." Noah stared at her pleadingly.

The legs of the chair weren't stable and the way it staggered made his heart leap.

This only made Bianca and Stephen laughed even more. They saw him as a pathetic loser and believed that Noah couldn't go any lower than this.

"Let me tell you something for the sake of that same past we had." Bianca said, her lips curved in a malicious, "I never loved you even in the slightest bit.

Noah didn't even look shocked at this point. Even if it took him two years of blind love, he's come to terms with that fact.

It's no wonder she was so persistent to keep their relationship a secret. It was never a relationship to begin with.

"I only used you for my own goals and now that my father has officially made me his heir, there's no need to leave you breathing either." She folded her arms and scanned Noah from head to toe with nothing but disgust in her eyes.

"For the way you humiliated me in front of all those people, you deserve to die."

Noah laughed and that caused Bianca and Stephen to be shocked.

"All this because I was the one who broke up with you?" he asked, now frowning. "Fine. We can go back and you break up with me."

Stephen punched Noah square in the jaw with all the strength he could muster.

"How dare you speak to Bianca that way? Just because you contributed to her success in such a small way?" He scoffed and ran his fingers through his hair. "We need to speak to the manager of that restaurant. I don't know how this loser managed to get in."

Bianca rolled her eyes. "That's a problem for another day. For now, let's get rid of this mess."

She stepped forward and placed the heel of her shoe on Noah's chest. And with a small grunt, she pushed hard against him just enough for the chair to tumble back and tip over the edge of the roof.

While falling, the last thing Noah saw was the triumphant smug looks on Bianca's and Stephen's face before gravity finally finished it's job.

Noah's crushed body, now leaking out a pool of blood, was hanging on a thin line between life and death.

He heard rushed footsteps and even if he couldn't look up to see their faces, he could tell it was Bianca and Stephen.

"Do you think he's dead? The eyes are still open." Bianca said in a panicked.

"Of course he's dead. No-one can survive such a fall." Stephen argued, "Now come lets go. Before someone sees us here."

With that, they both ran of to God knows where and Noah was finally left alone to die. He spotted a pair of white shoes come close before his vision finally faded entirely.

"Not so fast." a voice said. After which someone snapped their fingers.

Noah's eyes opened and he hurriedly looked around just to find himself in a completely white space.

"Wh- where am I?"

He squinted his eyes when he noticed something ahead of him. "Is that a... a tree?"

He walked towards it as fast as he could and stopped right underneath. It was an abnormally large cherry blossom tree.

A man dropped and landed on his feet right in front of Noah who almost fell back in shock.

"Who are you?!" Noah asked sharply.

The person in front of him was clearly an old man but looked as agile as a young person.

The old man laughed heartily, stroking his long white beard. He was dressed in white from head to toe in ancestral attire and had a pure aura surrounding him.

"I've been watching you for a long time." he said.

Noah managed to get up but his eyes remained fixed on this strange man. "Am I in the afterlife?"

"That depends on you." he answered.

"What do you mean?" Noah made sure to keep a safe distance just in case.

The old man swerved his right hand in the air and an image appeared on thin air.

Noah didn't even need to squint to see that the image was his own body still tied to that chair and soaking in blood at the bottom of that building.

"What's going on here? If that's me there then how am I..."

The old man walked till he was right beside Noah and watching the image too. "Right here, you're a soul. I removed you from your body right in the same second you were about to cross to the other side."

Noah felt a deep pain inside him as his memories flashed before his eyes right to the point when Bianca, the so-called love of his life, pushed him off a building.

"I can't believe she'd do something like that. I did nothing but love her. I even came back when I thought she was in danger and yet..."

"I can give you a second chance at life." The old man cut in.

Noah raised his eyes to look at the man. He was stunned at the abilities of person. "You can?"

'He even removed my soul from my body with his own hands. He's definitely a powerful being. A demigod at the least.' Noah thought.

"Yes." he answered. "But then you have to inherit my powers in return."

"But wouldn't that just because to my own benefit?"

The man chuckled and stroked his beard again. "It will. But then, like I said before, I've been watching you for a long time."

In the single blink of an eye, the old man transformed and Noah's jaw dropped.

Noah pointed, shocked and amazed at the same time. "It's you!"

The old man was also the supplier he always bought medicines from to restock.

"Indeed." he chuckled. "You've worked very hard throughout your life. Plus, you're good to people and a have a good heart in general. Luck has just not been on your side but I can take care of that."

The old man then returned to his original form. "So tell me, do you accept my little gift?"
