Chapter 3 - HEAVEN AND EARTH ACKNOWLEDGE THE DEVOURER

Heaven and Earth, Acknowledge the Devourer

Alone, yet again.

Gu Liu looked up at the shattered sky. It resembled broken glass, jagged cracks spreading across the heavens as the moon of his planet descended in all its cold glory.

There was no trace of hope for this world.

For his world.

Just as he planned.

A maniacal smile twisted across Gu Liu's face.

As expected… the Path of Voracity—the World Devourer—yields the greatest harvest.

He had plundered the very core of his homeworld, Mè13. With it, he finally ascended to a realm equal to those so-called World Shapers, deliverers, and Bearers. A threat of cosmic proportions. A horror of boundless appetite. A true divinity.

And as divinity, the laws of creation bent beneath his will. Naturally, the first thing to do with such power was obvious—

—complete his bucket list.

Among those countless indulgences was one exquisite spectacle: the annihilation of a planet by its own moon. A self-made cataclysm. A divinely beautiful masterpiece of destruction.

It was a spectacular sight no matter how any looked upon the destructive artwork

---

At Present

Gu Liu raised his gaze once more. The scene was eerily familiar, yet not the same.

This was not his planet—that one had long since vanished into the abyss.

Today's target was Enma's world, the boy he had once taken as a disciple while masquerading as a benevolent World Bearer.

This planet was no fragile sphere; it was an amalgamation of realms and worlds. A mere moon-nuke would not erase it completely. But the impact would leave a plague mark—ending countless lives and unleashing lunar horrors, sacred and unholy alike.

And something else had changed.

For the first time, Gu Liu's expression carried a shadow of melancholy… pity… and despair.

Why despair?

Because fate had played its final joke on him.

Today was the day he would die—

—at the hands of the one person he had raised to stand as his equal.

His own investment had come to claim his life.

Laughable.

Utterly.

Ridiculously laughable.

Gu Liu stood upon the colossal skull of a fallen titan and looked down. Below, a lone figure stared back—Enma.

The boy's eyes burned with sorrow and confusion.

"Master!!! Why?!" Enma's voice cracked through the chaos. "Why did you do this? Why did you kill them? You bear the weight of seven worlds, and yet… you chose cruelty! Tell me why! Explain yourself!!!"

No answer could absolve Gu Liu of his sins. Enma's questions were not for understanding, but for survival—for keeping himself from drowning in the madness already clawing at his mind.

Yet Enma's heart was resolved to kill this man.

The innocent child he once was had perished with the old world.

Gu Liu exhaled a long, heavy sigh. A flicker of pain crossed his face—

—and then he broke into a storm of laughter.

"Foolish disciple," he thundered, voice echoing like grinding stone. "Did I not teach you righteousness through cruelty? Did I not show you how to find life within death?"

The laughter deepened, twisting into a sound both maddening and divine.

"Oh, but you still do not know who I truly am. Then listen well."

Enma's face tightened, grief curdling into fury as the weight of seven worlds and the terrified, agonizing screams of countless souls, wills, unfulfilled wishes and dreams, and lives pressed down upon him unleashed by the man he once called sensei. He whispered, barely audible:

"Don't tell me… you're actually—"

Gu Liu's laughter exploded, his voice swelling with the raw aura of pressing a never ending hunger and will to consume all.

"Yes! It is I—Bearer of the Devourer's Heart of Voracity! I have traversed the glorious heavens to the derogatory hells, and even the vast void of the cosmos, consuming lives, wills, souls, dreams, wishes, stars, and seven primordial worlds!"

His mind flickered with old memories:

The pain. The hunger. The void in his heart that made him different, the exception- the strongest.

The day he discovered the True Inheritance of Voracity, containing a true fragment of the cosmic horror Ouroboros, the Endless Devourer.

His first kill.

The guilt.

The ecstasy.

The fleeting peace that only consumption could bring.

"I," he roared as the aura of voracity rose in all its vile glory, cloaking him and nearly everything around him in a grotesque glow filled with sounds of wailing and mouring

"AM GU LIU ZHENG, THE WORLD DEVOURER!"
