The silver-blue giant tore through the clouds like a falling star, its descent carving a path through the dawn mist before landing with a world-shaking thud in front of the defensive outposts on Sunagakure's eastern coastline. The sudden, oppressive weight of its massive presence initially threw the stationed ninjas into a frantic combat-ready posture. However, as the dust cleared and revealed the machine's unique, majestic form, the alarm was instantly replaced by earth-shattering cheers.
"It's Lord Sayo! And Lady Pakura!" "They've returned! The giant has returned!"
Sayo and Pakura leaped from the Gundam's shoulder. Though their faces bore the visible "Hardware Strain" of a cross-sea flight and high-intensity combat, their eyes were as bright as stars. The residual killing intent from the night's operation hadn't yet dissipated, giving them an aura that was both terrifying and immensely reassuring to their subordinates.
Pakura immediately began issuing tactical directives to the local commander, reinforcing the perimeter and ensuring the defensive line was at peak readiness. Sayo, however, walked straight toward the communications squad with the focus of a man finishing a high-priority task.
"Prepare the fastest messenger hawk immediately. Highest encryption level," Sayo's voice held an undeniable weight. "This intelligence has top-tier priority. It must reach the Kazekage's office before the next negotiation cycle begins."
Seeing Sayo's solemn expression and the lingering chakra fluctuations around him, the communications ninjas didn't hesitate. They prepared the bird with practiced speed. Sayo tied a small, tightly sealed scroll to the hawk's leg, a summary of the "System Deletion" they had performed on Nagi Island and watched as the bird soared into the sky, becoming a black speck heading toward the heart of the desert.
Hidden Sand Village, Kazekage's Office.
The atmosphere inside the stone chamber remained heavy enough to stifle a man's breath. Although Sayo had been authorized to execute his plan, Rasa and the Elders were privately bracing for a catastrophe. A cross-sea strike against a Hidden Mist stronghold was a mission with a high "Failure Probability"; the consequences of losing Sayo and Pakura at sea would have been the final crash of the village's spirit.
The rapid flapping of wings broke the silence. A dusty, exhausted hawk landed on the windowsill.
A communications ninja snatched the scroll, verified the seal, and hurried into the office, his voice trembling. "Lord Kazekage! Urgent report from the East! Highest priority from Jonin Sayo!"
The tension in the room snapped. Rasa snatched the scroll and unrolled it, Chiyo and Ebizō leaning in close enough to hear the parchment crinkle. The content was brief, but every line struck them like a physical blow.
"Target 'Nagi Island' successfully intercepted at 0200 hours..."
"Night-raid completed. Enemy response was slow; defenses neutralized..."
"80% of port facilities, coastal batteries, and the southern patrol fleet destroyed..."
"Kaguya Clan garrison suffered heavy casualties; Clan Head wounded in direct engagement..."
"Total resource acquisition: one extra-large sealing scroll of high-grade metal ores and tools..."
"Extraction successful. Currently holding the eastern coastline."
Attached were several blurry but unmistakable images captured by Sayo's reconnaissance puppets: the port of Nagi Island turned into a burning crater, warships sliced into scrap metal, and the silhouette of the silver-blue giant standing amidst the flames like a mechanical demon god.
Silence. A profound, absolute silence filled the office.
Elder Chiyo's hands shook as she touched the images, her lips moving silently before she exhaled a long, ragged breath of relief. "They did it... They actually performed a surgical strike on a Great Nation... alone."
Ebizō slammed his fist against his palm, his eyes wide. "This is an unparalleled feat of arms! To cross the sea, cripple a vital supply base of the Mist, and return without a single casuality in our own ranks... this battle will rewrite the tactical handbooks of the five nations!"
Fourth Kazekage Rasa gripped the scroll so hard his knuckles turned white. He read the results over and over, a storm of emotion raging behind his eyes.
Success. They had actually achieved it.
He thought back to his argument with Sayo in the desert, Sayo's insistence that "Peace is maintained only when sought through struggle." The boy hadn't just spoken words; he had built a machine and used it to prove his logic was the superior one.
The lingering trace of gloom in Rasa's eyes vanished, replaced by a cold, sharp decisiveness. He looked up, and for the first time in years, he looked like a man who truly believed in victory.
"Elder Ebizō," Rasa's voice regained its calm authority. "Copy the core data from this report immediately. Send it to Baki at sea via high-speed relay. Tell him the bargaining chips have been updated. He is no longer to 'Ask' for peace; he is to demand an explanation for why the Mist's 'Southern Stronghold' is currently on fire. The Mist needs to understand that we are the ones holding the deletion key now."
"Consider it done!" Ebizō turned, rejuvenated by the news.
Rasa looked toward the window, as if he could see across the desert to the coast. "Send word to the eastern outposts. Commend all personnel. Command Sayo and Pakura to maintain a 'High-Alert' state. We must guard against a desperate counter-attack, but for now... they have won us the future."
As the messengers scrambled to execute the orders, Rasa and Chiyo remained alone.
"Lord Kazekage..." Chiyo said softly.
Rasa didn't turn around. He watched the sand blowing outside. "Elder... perhaps Sayo was right. We have been too focused on 'Maintaining' a broken system. We are old, and our imaginations have become rigid. The path forward belongs to those who see the world as something to be built, not just survived."
The return of the two heroes wasn't just a tactical win; it was the prelude to a new era where the Hidden Sand would no longer be a victim of geography. The "Architect" had returned, and with him, the blueprint for a superpower.
