Chapter 176 - Chapter 172: Returning to Daily Life

Daenerys looked up, her purple eyes shimmering with unshed tears.

The young girl had actually grown quite a bit taller, but her actions were exactly the same as when she was a child; before him, she would always be that little girl who needed her brother's protection.

"What's wrong? Have you been waiting long?" Viserys asked Daenerys, who was in his arms.

"I've been waiting here every afternoon," Daenerys looked up, her purple eyes full of grievance. "And yet, you've been gone for nearly a month."

"I'm sorry, I got delayed by some matters," Viserys replied, ruffling Daenerys's hair.

"Then you have to tell me all about it," she said, holding onto him and refusing to let go. "You have to tell me everything."

"Alright."

Once Viserys agreed, she finally showed a satisfied smile, though she still didn't let go. Viserys had no choice but to pick her up and walk toward the castle together.

"Where is Rhaenys?"

"She rode Melyas and Black Flame deep into Valyria early this morning," Daenerys curled her lip. "She said she was going to catch Fire Lizards and hasn't returned yet."

Hearing this, Viserys connected his mind to Black Flame and indeed saw Rhaenys. They were likely inside a volcano somewhere. To speed up the growth of the Young Dragons in recent years, Viserys had often sent Black Flame to hunt Fire Lizards to feed them.

Furthermore, as the Young Dragons grew older, they began hunting Fire Lizards together. As a result, Fire Lizards were becoming increasingly scarce, and they now had to go deeper into the peninsula to find them.

Seeing that Rhaenys was safe through Black Flame's eyes, Viserys felt relieved. Over the years they'd spent together, he had discovered that although Black Flame was hatched by Ghidorah, it hadn't inherited any special types of flame.

However, it was the smartest dragon besides Ghidorah; even if it might seem a bit dull, that was only in comparison to Ghidorah's exceptional intelligence. Compared to other dragons, it was much smarter.

"Tell me quickly," Daenerys, sitting on his arm, gently shook him. "What is the Wall like? Are there really Others? Did you see Arya's family? She said she has an uncle serving as a member of the Nights Watch at the Wall." Daenerys's questions came rapid-fire.

Viserys couldn't help but chuckle. "Wait a moment, let's take them one by one, alright?"

Since Arya decided to stay in Valyria, she had been learning swordsmanship with Rhaenys and Daenerys under Viserys's arrangement. However, it was clear that her talent far surpassed the other two.

Since only Daenerys and Missandei in Dragonstone were of similar age to her, their relationship had progressed rapidly during this time, and they became good friends. Thus, after Viserys left, Daenerys often asked her for news about the Wall and the North.

Just as they entered the castle, they ran into Ashara, who was hurrying toward them. She had been handling castle chores when she suddenly heard the sound of a dragon landing, as well as Ghidorah's low growl.

Only then did she confirm that Viserys had returned, so she rushed to the castle entrance to meet him. Today, she wore a light blue gown, her black hair pinned up behind her head, and her pale purple eyes were full of gentle smiles.

"Your Majesty, welcome back," she curtsied slightly.

Viserys took a few quick steps forward, set Daenerys aside, and pulled Ashara into his arms. Ashara's body stiffened at first, and she was momentarily stunned.

After all, it was a bit embarrassing in public, especially with Daenerys present, but feeling the warmth of Viserys's body, she soon relaxed and wrapped her arms around his waist.

"You've worked hard during this time," Viserys whispered in her ear and kissed her on the lips.

"It wasn't hard; I'm just glad you're back safely," she said softly and shyly.

Seeing this, Daenerys intentionally cleared her throat. Ashara's face flushed slightly upon hearing it, and she tried to pull away, but Viserys held her even tighter.

Daenerys watched from the side, puffing out her cheeks. "Brother, I'm still here. Don't you love me?"

"Of course I do."

"Then why did you only kiss Sister Ashara? Why didn't you kiss me just now? I want one too."

Viserys laughed, released Ashara, and leaned down to kiss Daenerys on the cheek as well. Daenerys was finally satisfied, and she took both his and Ashara's hands to walk inside together.

Once they reached Ashara's bedroom, Daenerys tactfully let go. "I'll go tell the kitchen to prepare dinner."

With that, she ran off quickly, as if afraid that staying a second longer would result in seeing something she shouldn't. She knew some things now, like what she had heard outside Ashara's door back in Braavos—the incident she once thought was Viserys hitting Ashara.

Ashara chuckled at her peculiar expression. "Dany has really missed you these past few days."

Viserys reached out to wrap his arm around her waist and pulled her into his embrace. "And you? Didn't you miss me?"

Ashara looked up, his face reflected in her pale purple eyes. "What do you think?"

Viserys lowered his head and kissed her. Ashara's hands climbed onto his shoulders, her fingertips tightening as she responded. After a long while, she pulled back slightly, her hands resting against his chest, her breathing somewhat unsteady.

That afternoon, Ashara rarely pushed aside all her duties to stay in the room with Viserys. Daenerys was also very sensible and didn't disturb them, only sending someone to knock at dinner time.

"The Princess says dinner is ready," a maid's soft voice announced from outside the door.

Ashara sat up from the bed, her long hair cascading down to cover her bare shoulders. She turned to look at Viserys, her eyes filled with deep satisfaction.

"We should get up, or the child will get impatient."

Viserys reached out and pulled her back into his arms. "It's fine, let her wait a little longer."

Ashara chuckled and stopped resisting. After a while, she leaned weakly against Viserys's chest, listening to his strong heartbeat.

"While you were away these past few days, did you miss us?"

"Of course I did."

"Really?"

"Really," Viserys said, his hand stroking her long hair. "Especially at night, when I slept alone, I missed you very much."

Ashara looked up at him with mischief in her eyes. "Slept alone? Didn't you see your fiancée? Or did Prince Oberyn not arrange a few Dornish beauties for you?"
