Chapter 5 - Chapter Five: Is This Food Or Grass??

Chapter Five

How do you explain to anyone that you are not who they say you are? That you are a wolf, an Alpha in a human girl's body?? I'm guessing you would be finding it hard to explain such a scenario. That's exactly how Alpha Kael felt as he stared at his reflection in the mirror.

He had thought about asking Mariam to give him a mirror earlier, because he was sure that he would understand what exactly was going on if he saw himself in the reflection. Simply because he suspected that there had been a mix-up somewhere and that these people did not know what they were saying.

Immediately he entered the strange chamber, he walked to the huge reflection globe in the room to have a good look at himself.

"MY GOODESS," He and his wolf Kin exclaimed, their voices merging into one so strong that it sounded like an alpha howl, which made Mariam scream in fear.

He looked different. What happened to his height and gait?? He looked petite now. What happened to his body, he kept asking as he turned around, touching his bum, which was now roundly shaped and soft?? He covered his mouth in shock. But he tried not to get spooked and end up spooking his wolf Kin, who was already so flustered about seeing a human female bum attached to them.

"Um, Miss Jules, I suggest you lie down now while we wait for Doctor Abel to come check on you," Mariam cautiously suggested, gesturing to the bed.

"What year is this ?" Alpha Kael asked Mariam calmly.

'Please, goddess, let it be 1425, please 1425 he prayed silently, because if it was 1425, he might know where to go or who to ask to fix this body switch.

"2024," Mariam answered quietly. " Um, Jules, you really don't know what year it is ?" But she gasped when the Alpha punched the mirror hard.

'What in the goddess's name is going on? That's too far in the future. How did he get here? Why is he here? What kind of witchcraft trick or spell is this ?? Why does the moon goddess hate him so much that she plays such a sick game with him, even if everyone now hates him? Is that not better than this kind of punishment?' the Alpha thought as he continued to punch the mirror without hearing the screams of Mariam behind him.

He felt soft hands hug him from behind and remove him from the reflection globe, which, now that he is looking at it, is broken from multiple hits, then the pain hit him. "Oooow." He looked down at his hands and saw that it was bleeding.

"Look Kael I don't know what is going on, but I know that this body is too fragile for your brutal strength, maybe tone down on your Alpha rage?" Kin whispered.

"Stop hurting yourself, Miss Jules, please," Mariam said as she started to cry again. But the Alpha has only one thought in mind, how he can get back...

"Where can I find a shaman to reverse this spell?? " The Alpha looked at Mariam, who looked like she had just seen a ghost. He assumed that maybe she did not understand him, so he rephrased, " Do you know who a shaman is ?"

Mariam nodded, but she was crying again. The Alpha turned and held her hope shining in his eyes as he waited for Mariam to answer.

"Miss Jules, of course, I know Jehovah shamah, it's another name used to reference God, and he does not make or reverse spells, and he is in heaven, so you can't see him. Why are you asking to see God??"

"Oh my God, Miss Jules, I hope you are not thinking of committing suicide? Because that's the only way to die so you can go to heaven, but if you even commit suicide, you will go to hell instead." At this point, Mariam was full-on wailing as she explained to the Alpha.

The Alpha sighed in resignation. " Fine, I am not dying, Mariam. Can you stop crying? But are you sure this is 2024?"

Mariam nodded, walked to the box beside the reflection globe and picked up a device sitting on the box. She hands it over to the Alpha. " That is your phone, Miss Jules. See, it says February 7th, 2024."

The Alpha receives the contraption causiouly, as he promised himself to find a way possible to leave there, especially since he is sensing his wolf was getting stronger by the hour. He angled his body towards the door, planning to run as fast as his legs could take him.

Mariam, who noticed this, quickly blocked the door." Please, Miss Jules, you cannot run away again; the Doctor is already close to the estate gate."

"Ok, fine, but can you maybe show me where I almost drowned? I feel like I might remember something about myself there," The Alpha suggested, thinking he would be able to get back to his time using the river that maybe brought him here.

But Mariam went on her knees, " I know you don't remember how my life is, but I need this job. If you run off again, I will be fired, and then how will I pay for my mother's treatment?"

The Alpha nodded as the entire picture of the human female's situation became clear to him, and he decided to hold off running away at least for a while, so he would not be responsible for the human female's mother losing her life.

Forty Minutes later, the Alpha stayed still as the doctor checked him out, his pulse, his eyes, he kept singing some tune .. And after what looked and felt like an eternity, the Doctor wrapped his instruments, after covering his hand with soft clothe.

" From my examination, there is nothing wrong with her, just a minor concussion which, with a bit of rest, would clear up soon enough," The Doctor told Mariam, who nodded in relief. And the Doctor left immediately.

" Oh, thank God it's nothing serious, Miss Jules," Mariam told the Alpha, smiling ear to ear.

The Alpha just nodded, even if he was already plotting how to just disappear from here as soon as possible.

" It's time for Lunch, Miss. You want to eat here, right ?" Mariam asked smilingly, the Alpha nodded suddenly in a better mood, because at least he got to eat food. So he sits down on the chair beside the reflection globe, waiting for this food.

His stomach growled. A few minutes later, Mariam returned with a huge platter covered neatly. The Alpha and his wolf growled in excitement at the sheer size of the platter, which means the venison would be huge.

Then Mariam opened the platter and all their excitement died, because the platter was filled with leafy greens, some yellow leaves, some off-white thick liquid squirted on it, with two white oval-shaped items by the side.

"What is this? "The Alpha asked, his face and ears getting red in anger, but Mariam was smiling.

" I know you don't remember much due to your mild concussion, but this is your favorite food, Kale salad and two hard-boiled eggs."

Kin facepalmed as he growled in frustration, and all Alpha could do was stare in disbelief.

'If the goddess truly hated him, this was her cruelest punishment yet.' Kael thought

"By the Moon's bloody fang," Kael muttered, staring at the bowl. "Not even the goddess herself could make me eat this… 'kale.'"
