[One Week Before Wedding - Rain's Apartment]
Rain woke from a nightmare—not about Phayu this time, but about the wedding. In the dream, he'd been trapped at the altar, unable to leave.
"Just anxiety," Dr. Anong assured him in an emergency session. "Big life changes can trigger old fears. It doesn't mean you don't want to marry Prapai."
"But what if I panic during the ceremony? What if I have a flashback?"
"Then you have a flashback. Prapai will understand. Your family will understand. Rain, there's no perfect way to have a wedding. Just an honest one."
Rain felt slightly better but still anxious.
That evening, Prapai found him pacing.
"Talk to me," Prapai said gently.
"I'm scared. Not of marrying you—I want that. But of the ceremony. Of being the center of attention. Of freezing up or panicking."
"Then we change the ceremony," Prapai said simply. "Make it smaller. More private. Whatever you need to feel safe."
"But everyone's coming—"
"And they'll understand if we modify things. Rain, this is our wedding. It should make you feel loved, not anxious."
They spent the night redesigning the ceremony—shorter vows, smaller seating arrangement, clear exit path for Rain if needed.
"Better?" Prapai asked.
"Much better. Thank you for understanding."
"Always."
[Three Days Before Wedding]
Rain worked on his vows, struggling to articulate everything he felt.
Finally, he wrote:
Prapai, you taught me what love should be. Patient, respectful,You never made me feel trapped or controlled. You celebrated my strength and held me through my weakness. You proved that trauma doesn't define us—that we can heal and love and be happy. I'm marrying you not because I need you to survive, but because I want you in my life. Forever. Thank you for being my safe place.
Reading it back, Rain cried—happy tears this time.
