Chapter 44 - Bachelor parties

[Two Months Before Wedding - Rain's Bachelor Party]

Sky had organized a simple gathering—dinner, drinks, karaoke with close friends. No strippers, no chaos, just celebration.

"To Rain!" Sky toasted. "Who survived hell and came out stronger!"

"To Rain!" everyone echoed.

Later, Sky pulled Rain aside. "I need to tell you something. I'm so proud of you. When Phayu had you, I thought... I thought I'd lost you. But you fought. You survived. And now you're here, about to marry someone who actually deserves you."

"I couldn't have done it without you," Rain said, hugging him.

"Yes, you could have. But I'm glad you didn't have to."

Pete joined them. "Rain, can I say something? As someone who also survived abuse?"

"Of course."

"Your wedding—it's not just a celebration of love. It's a declaration that abusers don't win. That we survive and thrive and find real happiness." Pete's eyes were emotional. "You're an inspiration."

Rain felt tears threatening. "Thank you. For understanding. For being there."

The night ended with karaoke—Rain singing terribly but joyfully, surrounded by people who loved him.

[Prapai's Bachelor Party - Same Night]

Vegas had organized something more traditional—exclusive club, drinks, celebration. But it was tame by bachelor party standards.

"To my son," Vegas toasted, "who found real love and fought for it."

"To Prapai!" the group responded.

Kinn pulled Prapai aside later. "I want to apologize. For not stopping Phayu sooner. For not seeing what he was becoming."

"It's not your fault," Prapai said. "Abusers are good at hiding."

"Still. If we'd intervened earlier, Rain might not have suffered as much."

"Maybe. But we can't change the past. We can only support Rain's future."

Kinn nodded. "He's good for you. Makes you better."

"He's good for all of us," Prapai corrected. "He reminds us why we fight—to protect the innocent."
