Chapter 16: The Storm of Behemoths
Volt's ship had barely cleared the Elven coast when the sky bruised into a terrifying, unnatural black. Waves as massive as mountains rose, crashing against the hull with bone-shaking force.
"This is no natural storm!" Sai shouted, gripping a stabilizer rope with white knuckles. "I sense human magical residue in the clouds. They've activated a 'Summoning Mechanism'!"
Aki, sliding across the deck, peered into the churning depths with wide eyes. "Volt! There's something beneath us! Something massive!"
Suddenly, a gargantuan, serpentine head erupted from the brine, its eyes glowing like twin crimson beacons. This was the Leviathan, a sea behemoth bound by the humans through forbidden sorcery to guard their maritime borders.
Volt stood unmoved at the stern, lightning illuminating his stark features. "So, the humans are so cowardly they send sea pets to greet me?" Volt raised his right hand, dark energy crackling between his fingertips.
"System, activate the newly acquired 'Shadow Sovereignty'!" Volt commanded. In an instant, a colossal shadow manifested upon the sea's surface, dwarfing even the behemoth. The shadow coiled like giant hands around the Leviathan's neck, dragging it down into the lightless abyss.
The display was so overwhelming that even Sai felt a shiver of dread. Volt stared toward the horizon. "This is only the beginning. The humans must learn that no wall and no beast can bar my path."
