Chapter 8: The Sinister Secret
Volt placed his boot firmly on the chest of Zeriel, the Celestial Arbitrator whose white wings were now stained black with mud and grime. Volt's aura felt like a crushing mountain, preventing Zeriel from moving even a single finger.
"Tell me," Volt said in a low, terrifying voice, "What deal did the Elven King make with you? Why did he allow this land to become a cage for his own people?"
Zeriel coughed violently, golden blood leaking from his mouth. "You... you are too late. The King is no longer the ruler. He is merely a 'vessel' for the soul of one of the Gods. The day you returned was the day they decided to turn this entire continent into a trap for you!"
Sai and Aki reached Volt's side. Aki cautiously reached for the Arbitrator's armor and pulled out a small, glowing red crystal. "Volt, look at this! This doesn't just provide energy; it's a listening device. They've been hearing every word we say from the Heavens!"
Volt took the crystal from Aki and crushed it in his palm. "So they know I'm here. Fine... let them set their traps. I've come to turn the hunters into the hunted."
Volt turned toward Luna, who was watching the scene from a distance in pure terror. "Luna, show us the way to the King's palace now. It's time I met the 'God' living inside your King's body."
