Chapter 32 - Chapter 32 --Raising Money

Change? Change what?

Di Tian and Xiong Jun—the two strongest among them—had already been completely emptied out. Who among the remaining Spirit Beasts still dared to propose changes now? If they truly tried to revise the deal at this moment, wouldn't Di Tian and Xiong Jun be the first to come knocking on their doors?

Just moments ago, a few of them had even taken advantage of Di Tian.

The Ten Thousand Demon King and the others wore obsequious smiles, choosing not to exchange anything at all. They merely claimed that they had nothing they needed for the time being, a response that earned them nothing but a cold sneer from Di Tian.

Bi Ji shook her head helplessly before stepping forward.

"Boss Li," she said calmly, "it seems herbs fetch a higher exchange value. If a large quantity of the same herb is exchanged at once, will the price decrease?"

Li Rong, Dugu Bo, and Gu Rong all immediately understood what she was thinking.

"The Sacrificial Shop spans infinite Worlds," Li Rong replied evenly. "Herbs that cannot be processed by this branch will be distributed to other Worlds for sale. There is no need to worry about price depreciation."

Only then did Bi Ji relax slightly.

"I wish to exchange for herb seeds suitable for planting in the Star Dou Great Forest. Boss Li, do you have any recommendations?"

The moment those words fell, Gu Yuena, Di Tian, Golden Crocodile, and the others were all startled. Almost instinctively, their gazes locked onto Li Rong, tension flickering unmistakably in their eyes.

"I suggest planting Five Elements Spirit Grass around the Lake of Life," Li Rong said.

"This herb must be cultivated in regions rich in its corresponding element, while also possessing abundant life energy. The Lake of Life already meets the latter condition. As for the elemental density, that can be gradually improved. Once the five elemental spirit fields—metal, wood, water, fire, and earth—are established, they will also serve as cultivation grounds for Spirit Beasts aligned with those elements, greatly accelerating their growth."

Bi Ji's eyes brightened. Once her line of thought was opened, she immediately grasped the deeper implications. She stepped back and stood quietly behind Gu Yuena, which also helped calm the excitement surging through Di Tian and the others.

"Don't hold back, Bi Ji," Gu Yuena said gently. "This concerns the future of our race. We must be thorough."

Encouraged, Bi Ji stepped forward again, fully taking control of the discussion.

"How would we implement these improvements? And how exactly should the Five Elements Spirit Grass be arranged around the Lake of Life?"

Li Rong nodded slightly and explained in detail.

"Each type of Spirit Grass must be planted where mutually generating elements are concentrated. For example, Metal Spirit Grass requires dense earth-element energy. You can construct an enclosed medicinal field using Earth Spirit Bricks and place a sixth-grade Earth Element Energy Pearl at its center. That will be sufficient to ensure smooth growth."

"Given the spiritual energy concentration of the Star Dou Great Forest, combined with a sixth-grade pearl, a batch of fifth-grade Metal Spirit Grass can be harvested in roughly fifty years, with a market value of about three million sacrificial coins."

"Five such medicinal fields will yield approximately fifteen million sacrificial coins every fifty years."

Fifteen million in fifty years—while also accelerating Spirit Beast cultivation.

Even Bi Ji, usually composed, felt her heart pound.

"How many sacrificial coins would the total modifications cost?" she asked carefully.

"The construction of elemental structures and medicinal fields will cost around 120,000 sacrificial coins. Including immediate delivery reservations, that becomes 240,000."

"However," Li Rong continued evenly, "a single sixth-grade Element Energy Pearl costs 3.2 million. Immediate delivery doubles that price."

"The total cost for all five spirit fields, excluding seeds, is 33.2 million sacrificial coins."

Silence fell.

Even Gu Yuena, who lacked a full grasp of sacrificial coin values, was visibly shaken. Di Tian and Xiong Jun—who had just spent nearly everything—felt their scalps go numb. Gui Mei, Yue Guan, and Golden Crocodile had already gone completely blank.

Bi Ji stood stunned for a long moment before forcing herself to ask,

"What if we don't choose immediate delivery and wait one month?"

"…The total would be 25.9 million sacrificial coins."

Still astronomical—but compared to thirty-plus million, it was suddenly within the realm of possibility.

After all, fifteen million could be earned every fifty years. The cost would be recovered in roughly a century. For Spirit Beasts who measured their lives in tens or hundreds of thousands of years, that span was little more than a breath.

Bi Ji quickly explained her calculations, clearly leaving the final decision to Gu Yuena.

Gu Yuena fell into deep contemplation. In the end, she nodded slowly.

For the future of Spirit Beasts, this was worth it.

Without hesitation, she produced several silver dragon scales.

"Boss Li, what is the value of these?"

"Scales shed by a Divine-grade Elemental Dragon King," Li Rong replied. "They contain bodily essence, possess innate nine-element affinity, and have exceptional elemental-gathering capabilities. Each is worth 120,000 sacrificial coins."

"There are fifty-nine pieces here. Total value: 7.08 million."

Gu Yuena frowned slightly and produced silver dragon blood.

"And this?"

"Blood from a Divine-grade Elemental Dragon King, containing refined dragon blood essence. Total value: 9.87 million."

Combined—16.95 million.

Still short by 8.95 million.

Gu Yuena's expression darkened. She had fled to this continent long ago and spent countless years in slumber. She truly had little left.

"Take out everything of value," she said decisively, turning to the others.

None dared conceal anything.

Bi Ji contributed 2.1 million.

The Ten Thousand Demon King, 1.67 million.

Scarlet King, 1.13 million.

Zi Ji, 1.54 million.

Total: 6.44 million.

They were still short by 2.51 million.

The atmosphere grew heavy as everyone searched their minds again and again, desperately calculating what else could be exchanged.

Bi Ji suddenly took a deep breath and stepped forward.

"Boss Li," she said quietly, "Spirit Beast materials can be exchanged. Then Spirit Beasts themselves should also qualify. I am willing to exchange myself to your esteemed shop as a servant. How many sacrificial coins would I be worth?"

"Bi Ji!" Di Tian shouted instantly.

Yet even he lacked the words to stop her.

Li Rong tilted his head slightly, his gaze sweeping over her. Bi Ji felt inexplicably shy under that calm scrutiny and turned her body slightly aside.

…Why am I even embarrassed?

"I apologize," Li Rong said at last. "This shop does not engage in human trafficking."

"My true form is an Emerald Swan," Bi Ji replied firmly. "Not a human."

"The 'person' referred to by this shop," Li Rong said calmly, "includes all sentient beings. Humans, beasts, spirits, divine entities, or even awakened tools—so long as they can think and act independently, they are customers. That is what we call 'people.'"

Bi Ji fell silent.

Gu Yuena exhaled softly.

"Your Excellency's breadth of mind far exceeds ours."

"I've simply heard many things," Li Rong replied. "Before operating independently, I learned of countless Worlds. Your World distinguishes only between humans and beasts. Others recognize dozens of races."

"Can they truly coexist?" Bi Ji asked.

"In the World where the Sacrificial Dao Lord resides, there are over a hundred races. All are equal. Sect recruitment occurs every ten years, and origin is irrelevant—only qualification matters."

"Dao Heart is prioritized above talent," Li Rong continued. "Origin is secondary."

"What is Dao Heart?" Dugu Bo asked.

Li Rong paused, then explained,

"An unwavering belief—and the perseverance to uphold it."

He continued steadily, describing temptation, shortcuts, divine investitures, and the cost of abandoning one's own path.

"If I offered you divine ascension right now," he concluded, "could you refuse?"

Dugu Bo fell silent.

"Did the Sacrificial Dao Lord resist such temptations?" he asked softly.

"Naturally," Li Rong replied. "Every Dao Lord walks that path."
