Chapter 7 - Minor Level Up (part 2)

This is a super short chapter, because I am about to fall asleep sitting down. I'll try to update again soon. Hope you enjoy it.

Daniel audibly gulps, his quadruple chin jiggling like a fresh bowl of Jell-O.

Note to self, I think. Train Daniel's original body along with his second one. His chin also defies the laws of physics, although not in a good way...

"E-even still! It's not rocks we're talking about! It's knives! And where did you even get this many?" he asks, staring in slight concern at the pile of over 100 different knives.

They come in all sizes, brands, shapes, and materials, and they are scattered about three meters away from me.

"I found them," I lie, although that wouldn't be a better answer for a regular person. But luckily enough for me, Daniel is naive—not stupid, just naive. Using my {10x Monetary Cashback}

I was able to get a bunch of knives from a local hardware store.

(Author's Note: {10x Monetary Cashback} will now be shortened to {10x Cashback),

Daniel nods, but he still looks nervous.

I can tell he's scared, so I say something that I know will motivate him. "Daniel-Hyung, sometimes the first step toward change is the one that terrifies you the most! You said you want to change, right? Then be brave, Hyung. I believe in you".

Daniel freezes, and I can practically hear his internal debate.

After a moment, his eyes clear up, and I can see a new resolve. "Good job, Hyung!" My voice gets cut off as my body reflexively jerks my head to the left at about a fifty-five-degree angle.

A clattering sound behind me is the only indication that I just dodged a knife. The thin cut I feel on my brow is closed before blood even has the time to gather.

"Whoa! I mean, despite my racing heart, that was close! Way to grow some fuckin' balls, Hyung!" I turn toward Daniel, only to remember that I'm blindfolded.

A second later, a heavy thud rings out.

"Eh? Hyung?" I say.

Lifting up the shirt, I see Daniel slumped on the ground unconscious. "Looks like the fear knocked him out," I muse out loud.

This is the perfect time to train my resistance to my fear of pain!
