Chapter 9 - Beastglade

As the first light of dawn crept into the sky, Leon stirred from his slumber, a sense of excitement building in his chest. Today was the day he would finally step out of the estate and explore the world beyond its walls. He threw off the covers and got out of bed, his movements swift and eager.

With a few quick motions, he dressed in the simplest yet most practical outfit he could find. No fancy armor or gleaming sword for him; Leon was content with just his agility and quick wit. He didn't need any maids to help him, and he liked it that way. The less attention he drew to himself, the better.

As he made his way downstairs, the sound of clinking metal and murmured conversations reached his ears. His siblings were already waiting for him in the courtyard. Lena stood tall, her raven hair pulled back in a ponytail, her black armor gleaming in the morning light. She held a rapier at her side, its hilt adorned with intricate engravings.

Julian, on the other hand, looked like a miniature knight, his greatsword strapped to his back. The weight of the massive blade seemed to be no match for the seven-year-old's determination. Lily, his twin sister, stood beside him, her dark hair and armor mirroring Julian's, but her eyes sparkled with a quieter intensity as she notched an arrow in her bowstring.

As soon as they made eye contact, Lena hurriedly rushed to Leon.

"Leon !" Lena called hurriedly rushing to him,

"Hey Lena, looks like you're ready to go, he said as he looked at her outfit again, he already knew why she was here, probably.

"Why aren't you wearing any gear, where's your sword, o..or armor...., she said panicking.

While Leon was about to reply, a certain snicker stopped him, from doing so, it was none other than Julian.

"Why else will he have a weapon, it's not like he's gonna do anything, what else can you expect from a talentless lack magic like him, he snickered.

While Leon wasn't about to get annoyed by Julian again, there was no doubt that the brat was really getting on his nerves, considering the conditions though, he couldn't blame him, after all, only he received the lowest possible treatment.

...

Before heading to the location, their father Arlott assigned each of them attendants to assist them, however, Leon refused, it wasn't that he was trying to turn down his father's assistance, but he wasn't about to let a stranger find out about his powers, afterall he was trying to keep his powers a secret.

Even though he couldn't really know why, why he was trying to hide his powers, if everyone knew how strong he was, they will all treat him differently, wealth, power, everything would be at his, to control .

He felt like he had once lived before, but he couldn't remember anything, all he felt so far was nostalgia. All he knew was that, that life was horrible, for those who were strong .

..

Currently they were all in a luxurious black car,

Accompanied by three attendants, All the three which were girls, why ? While Leon refused an attendant, Julian insisted that his attendant be a girl,

'He's at that stage huh ?, but he's only seven ' Leon sighed.

The car continued to drive, only to one location, which is the guild.

As the car drove, Leon was taking a look at the city while gathering as much info as possible.

Secretly making a frost pigeon that flew across the city, he was able to view other places, through the view of the animal of his making.

Arriving at a very tall building, which was none other than the guild.

As Leon gazed out the car window, he caught a glimpse of the Guild's imposing structure. The building's sleek, modern design stood out amidst the surrounding architecture, with a façade of glass and steel that seemed to shimmer in the morning light. A large LED screen on the side of the building displayed the Guild's logo and various messages, casting a dynamic glow over the surrounding area.

The entrance was a large, sliding glass door that seemed to slide open and shut with a soft whoosh, admitting a steady stream of people into the building. Leon's eyes were drawn to the bustling activity around the Guild, with adventurers and guild members rushing to and fro.

Lena's attendant, Elise, emerged from the Guild, her expression focused as she hurried back to the car. "It's all set," she said, slipping into the car beside Lena. "Lord Atlott's instructions have been relayed to the Guild, and I have gotten the quest registered ."

Lena turned to Elise, her brow furrowed in inquiry. "What's the quest, Elise? What did Father say exactly?"

Elise nodded, pulling out a parchment from her cloak. "According to Lord Arlott's instructions, the four of you are tasked with slaying a pack of goblins ."

Julian's face lit up with excitement. "Goblins? Easy peasy! I'm gonna take down so many of them!"

Lily's eyes narrowed, her grip on her bowstring tightening. "How many goblins are we talking about?"

Elise consulted the parchment. "The report says there are about a dozen goblins in the pack.

The Goblins were sighted in Beastglade and Lord Arlott wants you to eliminate the entire pack and bring back proof of your victory."

As soon as Lena and the others heared the place, they frowned, even the arrogant Julian had a frightened expression.

Leon's expression remained neutral, but his eyes sparkled with interest. A dozen goblins wouldn't be a challenge, for him that is .

However, that wasn't what was challenging, no it wasn't that, it was the location, Beastglade.
