Chapter 6 - Lena Silford

Why does everyone hate Leon ?

This was a question that had always plagued the mind of little Lena, who was meant to be his twin.

Lena von Silford, born to the house of the Silford, descendants of the hero and the only kid with the current S rank potential.

Dark raven hair, short height around 4'8 although she was seven years old, due to her tremendous potential she was also blessed with the psuedo dragon eye, this allows her to see the flow of mana transparently, she can study the flow of mana due to this and this gives her advantage of not applying unnecessary amount of mana when needed .

She can also measure the mana of anyone she scanned with her eye, all she needed to do was apply a bit of mana into them. This was why she could see the amount of mana each human possessed, including her family members and how much talent they had as a mage. at least.

"Here's a cup of water miss", a maid came along .

Lena looked at this maid skeptically, her eye glowed, and she was able to see the subtle aura covering the lady, her mana was average at best.

Her brother, or step brother Cain was well known as talented in both magic and swords, same goes goes for her sister Rosa, and then there's her other siblings, yet they all condemn Leon, why ?.

There was no real answer for her since she was still a kid but even as a kid she was quite sensitive and curious, how could she not be curious about the amount of mana her brother has, since everyone calls him trash she might as well check herself, right ?

And truth to be told, there was no mana or aura surrounding him like they all said, he had no talent for magic.

...

"Hey sis, you were awesome back then" Leon said, a bit excited.

"No need to flatter me Leon, I still lost" Lena retorted.

"No not at all, you're still younger than him after all, and he has experience, you'll catch up, eventually" He added .

"While I do appreciate the word of encouragement it's not as easy as it sounds you know, of only you were in my shoes".

As if ignoring her he continued, "By the way, I saw that your fighting style focuses more on agility than strength"

"Huh, how did you .... How did you notice ?" She stuttered.

"Well, I was watching you all along, you could say that, hehe" he smiled .

"Since that's the case, why are you using a sword then, not just any sword, an heavy one" he questioned, as if he was confused.

"I... I don't know"

"That only means one thing, you and I know it", he said, scrutiny like a detective,

He looked at her and all she could do was look down not into his eyes .

She couldn't look into those sapphire eyes despite how beautiful they were, he caught her again.

That's right, she lost on purpose.

Despite possessing the psudo dragon eye, she still couldn't see through him, but him ? He could read her like a book

....

This was why she always admired him, maybe even feared him, he could see right through her, it was as if every single thought of hers was already well calculated by him.

...

Looking up to her twin brother again he only sighed.

"Look I won't ask why you're doing this but at least try using a rapier, it'll fit your style".

Then suddenly, the atmosphere suddenly chilled, and Leon conjured a sword, no it wasn't really like a sword she knew.

It was thin, and the handle was a bit, something she could hold tight and swing all day.

This is a rapier, he said as the atmosphere returned back to normal,

It'll make you strike way faster, but don't rely on it's strength, it's not like a sword anyways .

Just as Lena was still admiring her twin she realized something

Wait a minute, Leon wasn't supposed to have mana, yet he conjured a rapier made out of Ice.

Lena's eyes widened in shock as she processed what she had just witnessed. The Pseudo Dragon Eye had recorded the entire exchange, and she had seen the mana flow around Leon as he created the rapier. But what was truly astonishing was that there was no mana emanating from him.

And yet, the rapier had been created, and the mana that had gone into its creation had come from... the atmosphere itself. Lena's mind reeled as she tried to wrap her head around the implications.

This was something fundamental, something that defied the laws of magic as she understood them. She felt a shiver run down her spine as she realized that her brother was capable of something truly extraordinary.

And yet, despite this revelation, Lena couldn't shake off the feeling that Leon was hiding something, that there was more to him than met the eye. She looked at him, really looked at him, and saw the faintest glimmer of something in his eyes, something that made her wonder if she really knew him at all.

Just then a maid came and told them that breakfast is ready and that their presence was highly requested

The maid's announcement was a welcome interruption, but Lena's eyes lingered on Leon's face, as if searching for more clues about the mysterious abilities she had just witnessed. "Breakfast, already?" she said, her voice a little distant.

Leon, on the other hand, seemed to snap back into the present moment, his expression smoothing out into a polite smile. "We'll be right there."

Leon gave her a brief nod, his expression neutral once more. "Let's go," he said, gesturing towards the door.

Together, they made their way to the breakfast table, the unspoken tension between them palpable.
