Chapter 67 - chapter 67 : ropes

Keifer's POV

The drive was a blur. I didn't care about traffic lights or speed limits; I just needed to get Jay to the hospital. Aries sat in the back, holding her tightly.

She was completely fainted, her face pale. I pushed the car to its limit, and in ten minutes, we were at the emergency entrance.

Aries didn't even wait for me to park. He jumped out and carried Jay inside, while Percy and I followed right behind him.

Now, we were all waiting in the hallway. Jay was inside a room, and the air between us was full of anger. We stood there, glaring at each other like we wanted to start another fight. No one spoke, but our eyes were shouting.

Aries had already called Angelo, and I knew we were in big trouble.

A nurse finally came out and looked at us strictly.

Nurse: "She is stable now, but she needs to rest. Please let her sleep."

A little while later, the elevator opened. Demon walked out. He didn't look like his usual calm self. He looked scary—like a king ready to punish his guards.

Percy: "This is all your fault! All of you caused this to happen to her!"

Yuri: "What? It wasn't just us! Don't blame everyone!"

Angelo: "Quiet."

His voice wasn't loud, but it was so cold that everyone stopped talking immediately. He looked at us with eyes like ice.

Angelo: "If I hear one more word from any of you, I will kick you all out of this hospital. Do you understand?"

He led us away from Jay's door to a quiet corner. He turned around and crossed his arms.

Angelo: "Tell me exactly what happened. Now."

At first, we were all silent. We looked at the floor, feeling the heavy weight of guilt in our chests.

Angelo: "I said, TELL ME!"

Aries finally spoke up. He told Angelo everything—how Jay slipped, how we started fighting and punching each other, and how she started screaming for her mother before she passed out.

It has been fifteen minutes since then. We are still standing here, arguing in whispers and blaming each other. We are a total mess, and Jay is the one suffering because we couldn't keep our tempers under control.

The hallway was still a battlefield of words. Percy was shaking with anger, his finger pointed straight at Yuri's chest.

Percy: "You know, Yuri? You are the only reason our friendship is ruined. Everything was fine until you started your games."

I stepped forward, my brow furrowed.

Keifer: "What do you mean by that? "

Before I could finish my sentence, I felt a firm hand drop onto my shoulder.

I spun around, ready to snap at whoever it was, but I froze.

It was Elara. And standing right next to her, looking pale but incredibly angry, was Jay.

Elara: "You kids seem to be having a very busy time fighting. Huh. Nice. Please, carry on. Don't let us stop you."

I couldn't even process how they got there. My eyes went straight to Jay, but instead of the frightened girl from the mini-mart, I saw a terrifying death glare.

Everyone (In unison): "Jay! What are you doing here? You need to rest!"

Jay didn't look touched by our worry. Instead, she slowly began to clap her hands, the sound echoing sharply in the quiet hospital hallway.

Jay-Jay: "Oh, yes! Of course! Why not? I should rest while you all stay here and fight, right? Is that the plan?"

Keifer: "But Jay, the doctor said—"

Jay-Jay: "No 'buts'!"

Even Kuya Angelo looked shocked. He stepped toward her, his voice softening.

Angelo: "Jay, what are you doing out of bed? You really should be resting."

Jay let out an irritated huff and crossed her arms. She looked like she was about to explode.

Jay-Jay: "No! I am not resting. I am going to get rid of this... this quadrilateral love square today!"

We all blinked, completely lost.

Everyone (In unison): "What?"

Jay's face turned bright red as she realized what she had just said. She started to stammer, waving her hands around in the air.

Jay-Jay: "Oh... I mean... this! Whatever this mess is between all of you! We are finishing it right now!"
