Chapter 29 - Onsen

Back to when Makoto met Rimuru again.

"Another world!?" Rimuru exclaimed in shock. "You can go to another world?"

"Before that, let me introduce my followers. It seems your friends are already getting impatient," Makoto said as he looked at Tomoe, Mio, and Shiki.

"My name is Tomoe, a follower and servant of Waka. As this young girl said, I am a dragon," Tomoe said.

"My name is Mio, a follower and servant of Waka-sama," Mio said.

"My name is Shiki, a follower and servant of Waka-sama," Shiki said.

"As I expected, you really are a dragon. And on top of that, all of you look incredibly strong," Milim said.

"Makoto-san, how can you travel to another world?" Rimuru asked Makoto.

"Actually, as long as you meet certain criteria, going to another world isn't that difficult," Makoto replied.

"Is another world fun?" Milim asked.

"The world I'm in right now is still under development. There's only a small city there," Makoto said.

"A small city? How can a whole world have only one small city?" Rimuru asked.

"Because that world was just recently formed, it currently has very few inhabitants," Makoto answered.

Hearing that, Rimuru became even more confused.

"Did you create that world yourself?" Milim asked.

"What!? You're saying he created a world? Milim, you're joking, right?" Rimuru said.

"Umu. To my eyes, you look like an ordinary person, but an ordinary person couldn't possibly have followers as strong as them," Milim said.

"Honestly, I can only detect an ordinary human," Rimuru said after using his skill.

"May I call you Rimuru and Milim? You can call me Makoto as well," Makoto said casually.

"Of course, Makoto. You can call me Rimuru. But still, Makoto, it's amazing that you made a world," Rimuru said.

"You're exaggerating, Rimuru. I can't really make a world. My world was created through a series of coincidences that I didn't even plan," Makoto replied.

"That's still incredible. This is the first time I've met someone so strong. Since I've acknowledged you, you may call me Milim," Milim said cheerfully.

"By the way, can you do something about the aura you're releasing? The townspeople will be frightened if they feel it," Rimuru said.

"Tomoe, Mio, Shiki, can you suppress your auras?" Makoto asked.

"Yes, Waka," Tomoe replied.

"Understood, Waka-sama," Mio said.

"Of course, Waka-sama," Shiki answered.

After they suppressed their auras, Rimuru invited them to visit his city.

"By the way, Makoto, what will you do after this?" Rimuru asked as they walked toward the city.

"For now, may I stay in your city?" Makoto asked.

"Of course. I'd be happy to welcome you to my city," Rimuru said.

"Hey, Tomoe, are there many dragons like you in another world?" Milim asked.

"In my world, there aren't many dragons. Most of them stay in their own territories and rarely meet each other," Tomoe replied.

"Since we had no entertainment, we spent most of our time sleeping. Before meeting Waka, I also spent my days sleeping," Tomoe added.

"Isn't that really boring?" Milim asked.

"Yes, it truly was. That's why I'm so grateful to have met Waka. Every day now feels enjoyable," Tomoe said with a smile.

After walking for quite some time, they finally saw the city in the distance. As they approached, Makoto noticed several people waiting at the city gates.

"Yo, everyone, everything's fine. There's no need to be on guard," Rimuru said, then introduced Makoto's group.

When they entered the city, they met a winged lizardman-like person.

"Hello, Rimuru-sama. Who is this kid?" he asked, pointing at Milim.

"Kid?" Milim repeated, then without hesitation punched his face, sending him flying far away.

Makoto and Rimuru were left speechless.

"Rimuru, you have some unique subordinates," Makoto said.

"Hahaha…" Rimuru could only laugh awkwardly.

After that incident, Rimuru gathered the townspeople and introduced Milim to them to prevent a repeat of what just happened. At first, Rimuru also asked Makoto to stand on the stage, but Makoto refused, so only Rimuru and Milim stood there.

Then Rimuru took them to an inn. Since Rimuru knew that Tomoe and Mio were Makoto's women, he didn't enter the women's onsen, but instead went to the men's onsen with Makoto and Shiki.

"Waka-sama, soaking in an onsen feels really nice. How about we make our own onsen when we return?" Shiki asked.

"That's a good idea. Before, there were so many things to do that I didn't think about making an onsen," Makoto replied.

"Makoto, if you don't mind me asking, why do you travel to other worlds? From what you said, aren't you also building a city like me? Doesn't building a city require a lot of work? Aren't you busy?" Rimuru asked.

"All the city development has already been planned. As long as nothing major happens, I don't need to step in. That's why I have plenty of free time," Makoto said while relaxing in the onsen.

"If you ask why I travel to other worlds, I can only answer that it's my dream," Makoto said.

"I used to be just an ordinary student who liked archery. One day, a god appeared and said I would be sent to another world as a hero."

"So you were summoned by a god to become a hero in another world!? Are you the protagonist of a light novel!?" Rimuru exclaimed.

"Then what happened next? Did you face many trials, meet companions, and after great hardship defeat the Demon King and save the world?" Rimuru asked excitedly.

"It wasn't as dramatic as you imagine—actually, it was the opposite," Makoto said.

"After I was summoned and met the goddess, do you know what she said to me?"

"She asked you to save the world?" Rimuru guessed.

"After seeing me, the goddess immediately insulted and belittled me, saying how ugly I was. Then, without hesitation, she threw me down from the sky to the edge of the world, a barren wasteland. It took me three days just to meet another living being," Makoto said calmly.

"What!? Are the goddess's standards so high that she'd insult your appearance?" Rimuru asked.

"The goddess's beauty standards are extremely high. Even if I'm not handsome, at least my face is average," Makoto replied.

"When I first met the humans of the goddess's world, do you know how I felt?" Makoto continued.

"Imagine that every random person you meet on the street could easily become a magazine model in the modern world."

"That really is an incredible world from a different perspective," Rimuru said.

"Rimuru, I've been curious for a while. The design of this place looks just like modern onsen, and you also know about light novels," Makoto said.

"Actually, I used to be an ordinary office worker. One day I was killed, and when I woke up, I had reincarnated as a slime," Rimuru explained.

"You also have an interesting life, Rimuru. Not everyone could accept turning from a human into a slime as easily as you did," Makoto said.

After soaking in the onsen, Makoto reunited with Tomoe and Mio.

"Waka, the onsen feels amazing, especially if you soak while drinking sake. Just imagining it makes me excited. We must make one when we return, Waka," Tomoe said happily.

"As for sake, we have it too, Tomoe-sama," Shuna said as she came out of the women's bath with Milim and Shion.

"You have sake too? Then I'll definitely try drinking sake while soaking later," Tomoe said.

"You can soak again later, Tomoe. Rimuru has prepared a banquet for us. It wouldn't be polite to delay any longer," Makoto said.

"Waka-sama is right, Tomoe-san. Don't think only about drinking sake—food is just as important," Mio added.

"Weren't you talking about cooking with Shuna in the onsen?" Tomoe asked.

"We only discussed the basics, Tomoe-san. I've already made an appointment with Shuna to exchange cooking techniques tomorrow," Mio replied.

"Yes, Mio-sama's cooking techniques are amazing. Just talking with her gave me new ideas," Shuna said cheerfully.

After dinner, Makoto returned to his room with Tomoe, Mio, and Shiki.

"What do you think of this monster city?" Makoto asked.

"The city is well designed. It seems skilled craftsmen were involved," Tomoe said.

"The atmosphere of the city is very pleasant," Mio said.

"Despite the many different monsters, the city's security looks excellent," Shiki added.

"This city really is wonderful, especially the friendly residents," Makoto said.

"Waka, we will also build an even better and more beautiful city," Tomoe said.

"Of course. I believe in all of you and in all the residents of Eryndal to build a magnificent city," Makoto said.

"Now, let's continue our discussion from this afternoon about skills. Have you tried them?" Makoto asked.

"Waka-sama, I tried [Extra Skill: Analysis] while walking to the city. I can easily obtain information about what's in front of me, but I feel that the information is very limited. The skill is very useful, but if I want to research something more deeply, I still need tools or a laboratory," Shiki said.

"I think skills themselves are like world authority—the higher the skill, the higher the authority," Tomoe said.

"You're right, Tomoe. Just like how a normal concealment skill can easily be detected by an Extra Skill like Detection. A normal skill user can be easily defeated by an Extra Skill user, and it continues like that up to Ultimate Skills," Makoto explained.

"As far as I understand, skills can be created or upgraded using magic energy and the soul, combined with the user's strong desire," Makoto said, looking at Tomoe, Mio, and Shiki.

"Tomorrow, you can do whatever you find interesting. I didn't travel to other worlds to invade or for some noble cause. I just want to adventure and see the mysteries of the world. Maybe I'll change my mind someday, but for now, that's what I want. Will you accompany my selfish desire?" Makoto asked.

"Waka-sama, I will always accompany you wherever you go," Mio said seriously.

"Mio is right, Waka. This is just the first step of our adventure," Tomoe said cheerfully.

"Waka-sama, after meeting you, I can see a much wider world. Even my dream of traveling to another world has come true. I can't express how happy I am," Shiki said.

Makoto smiled.

"I'm truly grateful to have met all of you. It's already night, so you should return to your rooms," Makoto said.

"Yes, Waka," Tomoe replied.

"Good night, Waka-sama," Mio said.

"Good night, Waka-sama," Shiki said.

After watching the three of them leave, Makoto stood up and walked to the window, looking at the moon in the sky.

"Perfect Assistant, is what I asked finished?" Makoto asked in his thoughts.

[Answer: All skills that can be merged have been merged into new skills.]

"Then give me the report," Makoto said.

"I didn't know I had so many skills," Makoto said calmly after hearing the report.

"Perfect Assistant, what is required to obtain an Ultimate Skill?" Makoto asked.

[Answer: Individual Misumi Makoto possesses sufficient magic energy and soul to evolve into a Divine Human.]

[Answer: After Individual Misumi Makoto evolves into a Divine Human, [Unique Skill: Perfect Assistant] will automatically evolve into an Ultimate Skill.]

"How long will the evolution take?" Makoto asked.

[Answer: One day is required for Individual Misumi Makoto to complete the evolution.]

"It seems I need to find a suitable place to evolve. Tomorrow, I'll ask Rimuru if there's an appropriate location," Makoto said.
