Qin Jiqun worried that he had said the wrong thing yesterday, making her overthink things or get upset.
As a result, he couldn't focus on work all day and almost put salt into a pot instead of sugar.
It had been a long time since Qin Zhonghui had seen his third brother acting so unreliably.
He said, "Third Brother, didn't you sleep well last night? Why don't you go get some rest?"
Qin Jiqun thought for a moment, then pulled his second brother aside and said, "Second Brother, be honest with me. The person you mentioned setting me up with a while ago... was it Sister Jiang Lingling?"
Qin Zhonghui had thought there was no hope for those two. He was taken aback. "Who told you?"
"Never mind who I heard it from. Second Brother, just tell me—was it Sister Ling?"
Qin Zhonghui nodded. He had nothing to hide from his own brother.
He said, "Third Brother, why are you suddenly asking about Jiang Ling? What's going on?"
"Did she... call in sick today?"
