As a few female workers passed Grace Winslow, they muttered under their breath and shot her a cold glare.
"Wait," Grace Winslow said directly.
The two workers showed no embarrassment at being caught gossiping. They glared viciously at Grace Winslow. "What? Others might be scared of you, but we're not. Shameless hussy! You're a disgrace to all women!"
"Is that so?" Grace Winslow smiled. "I don't know what rumors you've heard or why you're so hostile toward me, but..."
"I'm not one to compromise just to keep the peace. So whatever you have to say, let's air it all out right now. I'm listening."
"Hah! Still pretending. Who doesn't know about you? Director Forrest treated you so well, and you still went behind his back with some other man. You're so shameless!"
