Holly Winslow glared at him and said what she was thinking out loud, "How about I give you a five-star smack?"
Mortimer Quincy: "..."
He glanced at Holly Winslow's small fist and said softly, "A smack for a kiss. I can live with that."

Mortimer Quincy was being too flagrant about his puppy love, and someone reported him to the Dean of Students. The dean then called Gabe Chaucer in for a talk.
"Teacher Chaucer, someone said Mortimer Quincy is in a relationship. Are you aware of this?"
Gabe Chaucer let out an "Ah?" and lied through his teeth. "Mortimer Quincy is dating someone? I don't think so. That kid does nothing but study all day."
Puppy love would earn him a demerit. Although it would eventually be removed from his record, it was still a black mark.
