Julian Donovan chose his words carefully as he began to speak, but she cut him off before he could finish.
"It's okay. I know it was because you were drunk…"
She lowered her eyes and murmured.
But her quiet compliance only made Julian feel more agitated and flustered, pricked by a faint guilt. He'd been so drunk last night that he'd mistaken her for Juliet Jennings. They were complete opposites: Juliet was tall and slender, while she was petite. Juliet would respond to his kisses with passion, while she would only bear them timidly.
Shaking off the chaotic thoughts in his mind, he looked at her and said indifferently,
"There's something I need to make clear to you. I'm in love with someone back in Syan. I pursued her for two years before we finally got together. I love her very much."
