Marian Miller looked up, as if she had suddenly remembered something. "Oh, right. Laura just found out she's pregnant, and the pregnancy is still in the early, unstable stages. Maeve and I have decided to have her come stay with us for a while."
"No, absolutely not."
Aiden Shaw rejected the idea without a second thought, his tone firm and leaving no room for discussion.
"You young people can't always control yourselves. My granddaughter has to be the priority right now. It doesn't matter that you said no. Laura has to come with us."
Marian Miller was afraid that since the two were still in their honeymoon phase, they wouldn't be able to control themselves. If they ended up losing her granddaughter, who could she possibly cry to?
In an instant, Laura Lowell's neck, face, and ears all turned red.
Aiden Shaw, sitting on the sofa, raised a hand to pinch the bridge of his nose. "Mom, I know what I'm doing. Besides, I'm a doctor. I understand the basics."
