As Zachary Redgrave spoke, he reached for Laura Lowell's stomach, but Aiden Shaw blocked his hand before he could touch her. "If you don't want to end up crippled, you'll stay right where you are and not move."
"I mean, really, Aiden Shaw? Do you have to be like that? I'm your son's uncle and your wife's best guy friend, for crying out loud."
"You'd better not move."
Aiden Shaw shot him a serious, stern look that was enough to make one's skin crawl.
Zachary Redgrave immediately backed down.
Aiden Shaw turned and nodded to Mr. Miller. "Mr. Miller, I'm sorry to trouble you, but could you please give my wife a check-up?"
"Dr. Shaw, you're being too kind. This is my job, after all."
Mr. Miller stood up from his office chair with a smile. "Mrs. Shaw, please come with me."
"Okay."
"I'll go in with you."
Aiden Shaw took Laura Lowell's hand and followed Mr. Miller into the examination room.
