Hannah Hale had the afternoon off and made plans with Laura Lowell to get a meal and go shopping.
She glanced at the time on her phone and headed straight for the elevator.
As she came out of the hospital lobby, Hannah Hale immediately spotted the car parked across the street. She walked over, opened the passenger-side door, and got in.
"I'm craving hot pot. There's a really great place if you turn left at the intersection ahead."
Hannah Hale fastened her seatbelt as she spoke.
"Sounds good. I was craving some, too."
The two of them got hot pot every few days. If they didn't, the cravings would make them antsy.
The hot pot restaurant was close to the hospital, only a ten-minute drive away.
After parking the car, Laura Lowell and Hannah Hale headed into the restaurant together.
The place was crowded, so to avoid being recognized, Laura Lowell chose a private room.
